I'm back listening to the 2003 Convention recordings and I picked up on another change HT agreed with that still hasn't come about yet.
In Aces High I, CA shells had massive tracers on them that showed up throughout the life of the shell, letting you know which shells were yours. Other players' shells didn't have tracers.
In Aces High II, CA shells seem to share their tracers with the 20mm rounds.
I'd like to see the AHI standard return, and apparently HT agreed. :)
Below are comparison screenshots, both taken from default zoom (hitting the z key without [] adjustment) firing to 27K and waiting 15 seconds.

What are we looking at in these images?

Well, I think you caught me screwing up the second image. I tried to reupload it without anyone noticing, but I think you got me. :)
The first image is AHI. You can easily see the tracers flying through the sky under the gunsight. The second is AHII...and you can't.

LOL..... Sorry sir.
I do think it to be a good idea. Unless your shooting under 10k, it is hard to follow your shot. The more help, the better!!!
+1

I'ma pump the bilge on this one one more time, then let her sink.

I like this idea. :aok

Agreed, would be useful for both the gunner and the defenders.

If it were implemented the same way as in AHI, it wouldn't aid the defenders. Tracers were only visible to the player that fired the shells.

Anything that would help me in them things.

Did not know that (as was already determined).

well I do remember seeing shell tracers coming from 20K+ distance while being airborne in AH1.

Yep, you could see em and find the CV much easier back then.

Well, I think there were "thick" tracers for everyone's shells, and "obnoxiously thick" tracers for your own shells. Since we can no longer get two people into AHI at the same time, I can't check it. If someone has two computers they can LAN together with it, that would be interesting to see.

Also a player's splashes should be dyed a color so you know from others. First I ever heard of this was in a book about Samar.
