Got a crappy comp. here, and only get around 8-13 fps. I'm locking up though, anytime that I try to type on any of the radio channels, the game will lock up.

Minimum system requirements suggest 64 meg video (yours is 32 meg)
as well as you ram being low, and your CPU being on the edge. Basically your pushing your system very hard, and maybe the text is just the straw that breaks the camels back.

That's kinda' what I was thinking too. I guess I'll have to try and get my other machine going.
I was flying with one of my squadmates this morning and he suggested turning the graphics detail all the way down. After doing that and disabling skins, weapons effect and the horizon, I was able to type.
