Guy's just wanted to share this. These are some awesome stories of the 56th FG. However, there is a treasure of interviews from many WWII vet's at the timeless voices of aviation web site just below.

Howard Casey...  "one of the bad things about that ballturret, you don't have a parachute.  My parachute is up there (hand pointing above)"  B24 Ballturret gunner.

I liked Billy Edens stories - like how he was out of ammo so he rammed the 109 shooting at his Capt.  Good stuff.
