Title: Speed Stepping

i have an xps gen5 in bios this option is on but asterisk says
"factory setting is off" but its on should i turn it off?
advice please

I think its primarily for battery conservation on laptops and if the system is being used (gaming) it shouldnt make much difference.

Speedstep allows the processor to throttle down during non peak workloads.  Helps keep your PC cooler by running at a slower speed, but it has the stability to instantly throttle up to full speed when necessary.  I use it on my Intel Processor without ever doubting it's decision making as to when to throttle up.  Lower temperature help all electronics overall last longer with less problems.
