Definately seemed like the type of person that would have been a pleasure to know. I have enjoyed much of his work as an artist and will miss his unique style and class <S>

Pain don't hurt.

I thought I heard awhile back, that he was improving. such a loss, he was a great actor and seemed really down to earth. Point Break was a great film.
-
I didn't even know he had pancreatic cancer. I've never heard of someone living long with that.

I really liked his movie's, I saw the interview he did with barbera wha wha, I liked his outlook on life and death. He was one of the few honest actors that didn't play into all the hype and general crapola that most actors subscribe too.
He actually lived a LONG time with his pancreatic cancer, his attitude was to be pissed at it and refuse to just lay down and die. He fought the good fight, he will be missed
Clear skies and tail winds forever

I think he lived 20 months after he was diagnosed. He was from Houston, Tx. and was married to the same woman for 35 years! He was well liked here and thought of very highly, just a good down to Earth kind of guy.
He also did a movie entitiled Steel Dawn, I think that's the name, that I thought was interesting. Yeah, he will be missed, and was a good example of what all of our celebs. ought to try to be.
R.I.P. :salute

Red Dawn is like a Saturday morning special in my house.
Yup.
Suddenly the phrase "ghost like Swayze" takes on new meaning.

Dirt Dancing. :aok

Yes, he was diagnosed with stage 4 pancreatic cancer. 75% of the people that get that diagnosis live less than a year. Swayze, however, managed to last 20 months, which is quite exceptional.
It is good that his ordeal is finally over. The cancer began to consume his body in recent months, and he was in a great deal of pain. This photo was taken of him just over two months ago:
One can hardly even recognize him in that photo. One can only imagine how bad he must have looked when he died.
Thankfully, he is now free from pain, and is at peace.

Pancreatic Cancer is a death sentence at this time.
It just cannot be reached, is normally found after it has already begun to spread,
the individual cancer cells get into the blood stream and setup shop where the hi-flow areas are.
Lungs, Brain, Liver, etc.
They replace the cells around them ..a gradual process that accelerates almost exponentially.
It is one of the roughest ways to go that I have seen, just a damn shame that Patrick Swaze went that way :(
I heard he useda play Air Warrior back in the day :)
"Opinions Vary" -Patrick Swayze, the line taken from bigweek IMHO :)

Damn Shame anyone has to go this way. Maybe one day medical research we find a way to reverse the process.

There's no money in a cure. Plenty of profit to be had from those living with the disease though.

Start up a company that finds cures then.
