Title: 3d artist no longer at large :)
Post by: Grayeagle on September 15, 2009, 04:37:13 PM
I am a proffessional 3d artist once again.
I am sitting here grinning as wide as my face will go.

I have to be there about 9:30am or so next Monday,
they offer bonus determined by effort,
the art director knows more about 3dMax than I do,
It's right here in Phoenix so I dont have to MOVE (!!)

I low balled myself on staring pay but I can work my way up
as raises are determined by effort put in, not some BS corporate bean counter plan.
*still more than I was making as an LPN by a substantial margin*
The owner flies aerobatics ..the art director has flown since he was 16,
It's not a startup.
The owner and art director sold their interest in their first company after it was bought out by corporate doods,
..they got frustrated with the whole corporate BS, not bein able to do what they wanted, etc.. so they are staying private and doing what they want to do the way they want to do it.
I am home.

It feels like coming in out of the cold.

So . . I probably wont make the AH Con this year,
hopin next year I will be there in my Vette.
Who knows .. mebbe I can drag 'em into AH :)

Congrats GE!  Good luck earning the bonuses.  Dang kids these days don't know what real work is (and get off my lawn!) so you shouldn't have any problem impressing them with your work habits.

Not a bad little gaming company, I actually enjoy playing Supercross 2009 on my iPhone.  Best of luck to you and hopefully we'll run into each other at one of the trade shows, you can buy the first round  :D

You should wait until the end of the month for Dragon Age: Origins and then consider creating your dragon for that game.  The tools for that game are far more robust than what you could ever achieve with Oblivion's tool set.  I saw a demo of what the editing tools that will be released with the game can do it' really nothing short of amazing.  Basically giving you almost the entire developer tool set to play with and it looks relatively easy to do.

sounds cool, although blender isnt from Oblivion, its a 3d modeling program. and then I got to use Nifscope to put it into Oblivion.

but I am gonna check out that dragon game.

thanx
