Now that AH models enough weapons hardpoints, it should be coming along shortly IMO.

Well, there already is S.A.F.P.

Isn't it called B.O.S.S.?
Well, Beaufighter Operator Support Services is a singular group of pilots, not a Secret Association of Beaufighter Pilots. Emphasis on Secret.

what I would like to know is: is it going to get F3 view mode.  Seems like it would run counter to what HTC has done w/ planes that have rear gunners if it doesn't.  And for that little "extra", I guess it will be perked.

BOSS = Beaufighter Operations Secret Service(perhaps?)

110 has a rearward facing gunner and no f3 view. Imagine if it did :noid

Why do we need a twin engine plane of any kind?

Everyone knows they suck and are completely worthless.

Why the radar every plane in AHII has radar better than any WWII bird as it is via the clipboard.

When the RADAR at the base goes down though no more dots show. put up a couple of these to replace it and fill in the gaps. The P61 is the first plane to carry its own RADAR.

You will find, with very slight effort at research, that many, many aircraft, even single engined fighters, carried radar before the P-61 even flew.

While the Beau was flown by all of our Air Forces a special candle is held for it for the RAAF in WW-ll .

This was a great, great airplane that had a hige footprint in the war in many guises. Night fighter, Maritime raider, Torpedoe plane. I say keep up the enthusiasm.

I am guessing that the Beaufighter would be treated like the A20. Its got gun turrets, plus the F3 view as well.

I would hope that we get the torpedoes that allow us to go as fast as we want on the drop, just so long as we are ten feet off the water.

Umm.... Lets see here....

BF-110G-2? Worthless? being a Knight, almost every NOE raid I see has a bunch of 110's, and one to five minutes later, they get the base. the 110 sucks. right.

P-38. it sucks you say? Wow, along with the 110, I see those in almost all the NOE raids to. And, one to five minutes later, they get the base.

B-25. It's a gv killin' machine. Even thoe it's big and slow, and is a plane that can easaly get hit by a tank's main gun, You have seen what it can do to ANY un-knowing driver.

262. LOOK at it. It's so "worthless" and "sucks" so much, it's the heavistly perked pland. 4 30mm cannons. do I need to explain anymore?

We need the beaufighter

Originally the 410 was only an AI plane.  Fans of the game modded it so the 410 could be flown by the player (same is true of B-17 and a few other aircraft).  This frequently involves the creation of the cockpit, gunner views, etc.

These kinds of mods violate the user license agreement, but there's a lot of controversy over them because they have kept a 7 year old sim new and fresh when it might otherwise have been forgotten.  I have two Il-2 folders:  one that's full of mods and one that's squeaky clean.

Heck no!  We don't need no F3 mode for the Beau!

And why would you perk a plane that was first flying combat in 1940?

It's not uber, it's just tough, and has a ton of history to go with it.  Throw in that it served in every theater of the war outside of the Russian front, and all the skinning possibilities and scenaro uses and what's not to like?

Don't know why a 110 would have f3 mode either with views like this looking back?

6 view has nothing to do with whether or not a plane gets the F3 view.  All that matters is whether it's categorized as a bomber or a fighter.

Precisely this.  When the Mosquito was introduced it was under the Bomber category and it had an F3 view.  A couple days later, after very heavy Mossie use whenever fighter hangers were down and people pointing out this version served in Fighter Command, it was moved to the Fighter category and lost its F3 view.

Lets try a new way of looking at this. Question will the Beaufighter carry torpedoes? Answer most likely yes. So how many torpedo carrying aircraft in the game at present use the bomb calibration mode to launch a torpedo? I think they all do right?

So of those torpedo carrying aircraft how many of them have F3 mode? All of them again right? So will the Beaufighter have a calibration mode for the torpedo? I don't know if it will or not, it would be a break from tradition within the game that is for sure if it didn't. The same would be said of the F3 mode for a torpedo launching aircraft.

None of that matters.  All that matters is if HTC designates it a fighter or a bomber, and I'll bet dollars to doughnuts they designate it a fighter for the same reasons the Mosquito FB.Mk VI is a fighter in AH.
