Title: Question on the new IL-2 gun recoil.
Post by: Bronk on September 20, 2009, 01:39:46 PM
Do the guns start firing together and lose sync?

If the first couple of rounds do fire in sync does it reset or is it randomized throughout the clip?

I ask because as a former Hurri D driver I never held the trigger down. It would push the nose around way too much. I assume the same system would work for the IL-2.

No, they fire in an alternating sequence -- one side, then the other, back and forth.

You cant see it but the distance to the tank, when the 37mms start firing at the Tiger, is 200. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-FpD3xfnq-8

Thats the real secret to killing with this machine. Not "sync'ed guns". I wouldnt even think about the sync'ed guns.

Thats a 760 gram AP round going 2887 fps, each gun having a ROF of 260 rpm. So a 1 second burst is good for 9 rounds, each of which can punch thru 50mm of armor. http://www.russianammo.org/37mm.html
