Title: Anyone using a CyberpowerPC laptop?
Post by: Max on September 21, 2009, 09:13:35 AM
The reason I ask, from a "bang for the buck" perspective, CyberpowerPC seems of offer great value and componant options. Upon doing a wb search for customer reviews, I found that most folks loved the product while 20% were extremely dissatisfied. Just thought I'd put it out there for opinions....Spikes & Hoarach excepted  ;)

My assumption:

Since they custom build it for you, it's going to be better than anything else out there.

I doubt they "build" the laptops.

They do.  Just like they built the Desktop I got from them in March of 2006, before I built this one.

I reviewed one of their gamer laptops last year, comparing it to an Alienware gaming notebook that Alienware sent me.

It boiled down to this: the Alienware had much nicer fit and finish - it was like a BMW or Mercedes or an upper-range Toyota. The CyberbpowerPC just screamed "Components Made in China for the Cheapest cost possible" and it looked a little rough in places - think Hyundai or Kia or General Motors.

Still the Alienware notebook cost 30% more and was no faster; both used the same internal components.

For my money, I would get a CyberpowerPC gaming notebook over an alienware notebook.
