last night.
apparently, as i was straffing a vbase, the 6 ostis, wirbels, and whatever else were out there were having trouble hitting me.
spectre2 puts something out, saying "everybody record the p38 at v28" :rofl
after they finally did take me down(i was gonna keep making passes till they either kilt me, or i ran outta ammo) i asked why that was put up. he refused to answer.
then time(lazydog) tells me that they're all saying i'm warping. checked my net status, and it was perfect(as always), so i figure an explanation may be in order.
remember, they changed the turret speeds? well, i was well over 400mph on most of those passes i made. i deliberately made most of those passes so as to be crossing all of the gv's at angles that would require tracking, and for them to move their turrets.
to the best of my knowledge, these turrets can't move fast enough to track an aircraft at 400mph. when i was past them, i wasn't climbing sharply, till i was a ways out, so as to not give a big profile.
it was only a matter of time though, before one or two of the 4,5, or 6 gv's hit me. :devil :aok
a little later, i'm trying to defend a base, and am on an aircon, when i get a call, "cap, check the mustang!"
i turn, dive(from 100ft :rofl) to get what speed i can get, and watch the pony.
i see him closing, so i turn, to see if i can pull him in. he comes at me, i pull almost into blackout, and roll out. he takes his shot and misses, but rather smartly, he climbs back up.
i tried to get guns on him, but couldn't get them there fast enough, so i level for speed and the next pass.
he comes back down, i do the same thing, 'cept i let him get closer, hoping to get him to scrub his e. he missed again, and went back up, this time extending out of icon range.
next i know, i see in the text buffer "38 at a(i forget the base number), you're warping". since i was clear, i immediately checked my net status again. it was perfect across the entire screen.
this leads me to believe, that you(time) seriously mis-judged my e state. so, i think your version of the warping 38, was simply a 38 that was easily able to avoid your bnz pass. you're just fairly used to picking us when we're slow, and barely able to dodge.
since i know you read these..i have to ask? was i "warping" when you came back, after extending a sector, and picked me while i was slow enough that i could barley keep it in the air?
that's my rant/explanation/stuff for the morning.

Actually Cap they can track you but they have to guess your direction of flight and be ahead of you. The turrets used to have the speed to catch up to a planes flight path, they no longer have that ability. Good SA in a GV is important. These fellows must not have had it.
:salute

Maybe I should start flying MW with you CAP, I enjoy a good whine! <<S>>CAP!

Ignore Lazydog (Time), he's just one of the resident ankle humpers whiners that pollute the MW. He's always got a reason why he lost a fight but its never because he got out flown.
ack-ack

actually, it'd be a blast to see more of us over there. :aok
i make good bait for akak. :noid :aok

well, i know i couldn't really hit anything in those dam things to begin with. i tried one for a bit later in the night, and still couldn't. :rofl
you probably have a point...i thought that with the adjust speed of the turret, it just couldn't be spun 'round fast enough.
figuring the lead, would also make sense, as i flew the exact same passes multiple times, and that would have given the dudes ample opportunity to figure a good lead on me.
like i said, the fun in that instance was to see how many passes i could make...or if i could finish my ammo on different structures, before one of em got me.
i almost made it too. :rofl i had less than 500 rounds of 50 cal, and no cannon left when one of em tore my wing off. :aok
i dont think i've ever laughed so hard. i was sayin something on squad vox, concerning IF they hit me.......then......blamblambl am, hey!! no wing over there!! :rofl :aok

well, he didn't lose. he missed. twice. waited till there were others, then came in and did his thing.
he was in later....like after midnight eastern.......i popped him in his hellkitty.....he logged without saying anything.
admittedly, i did kinda pick him, although i was just up off the runway, he was in on someone else. i ran a nice 2 second burst right down his right side. :aok :D

Irregardless of your Net Status, you could have just said, "OK, I'll check my connection" and re-logged....
wrongway

i did. each time. the dudes on the ground never said anything besides "everyne record the p38 at v28" so i had no clue. the 2 times afterwards, i checked, and it was perfect.
also, if i'm not mistaken, had i warped to them, then the entire area would've warped to my view?
and finally, it was who it was coming from. had it been llgaf, PnP, rodent, ausmith, or some others, i'd have taken it more seriously. can't take too much seriously from the person that said it though. :aok

I'm glad all of this has been cleared up.

Cap I would not worry unless someone new to your team was trying to get you to killshoot yourself.
-
Now that's somthing to worry about!

eehh.....not worried.
checked my net status, was ok every time, so i just kept flyin n fightin.
i really shouldn 't have let myself fall into that 200 poop though.........not like me to do that.

Just to Hijack the thread.... (sorry Cap) What the dickens are the Rooks doing lately??

you should be. confusion leads to worrying. worrying leads to gray hair. :D

The smoothing code keeps you from seeing if you're warping unless there's other aircraft accelerating around you. Since the GVs were stationary, there would be no way to tell if you were lagging other than the netstat or if you disco'd.

aahh......i didn't know that.
my net status was good, and i got no tcp icp messages or anything........still think they were tryin to mess with me, or they were mad 'cause they couldn't hit a rather large target. :devil
