Title: Terrain Editor 2.14 Patch 8, Add Color and Depth Textboxes
Post by: MachNix on September 22, 2009, 04:24:43 PM
On the Water Tab, add textboxes for Color and Depth that will display the position of the sliders and allow the user to enter values (0 to 255).  Sliders work okay but don’t allow for precise control.

Add a scale to the sliders so people will know that Color values range from 0-Ocean to 255-River, and Depth values range from 0-Deep to 255-Land.

Also, it would be nice to see what values where used for the location currently under the curser.  This would help when trying to match water color and depth.

Add to this a "soft brush" effect and blending using the TE will be even easier, especially if you're manually editing the waterd.bmp file, but want to fine-tune things in the editor.

I'd really like to see all BMP files (waterd.bmp, waterc.bmp, grndtype.bmp, and the elevation file) in the same scale as the water depth/color bitmaps. You can make these VERY nice shorelines, but the terrain types can't be set to follow it.
