Hey All <S> just wanted to share my last EBay Experience,, Last year or so Ive been wanting to buy a boat so me and my son can spend more time with each other, and well sense we both love the water why not a ski boat, we have a 16ft fishing boat already but that's for fishing and not very good for tubing Etc. i Decided on three brands Malibu, Ski Nautique or MasterCraft now granteed any of these three are to pricey new 60,000 to 85,000 new, That's crazy !!
So off i go looking local for a nice used one, these three brands i choose seem to hold there value extremely well Ive found out, and it was getting depressing to find what i wanted, along comes EBay one night i was looking and seen this MaterCraft in Danville California 1992 300 hp 351 Ford, raw water cooled 417 hours looked good in the pics only 1 scratch in the hull Interior looked good , minimum bid was 7,200 and there was no bids, no reserve, but you could buy it now for 12,500 so i watched it for 6 days still with no bids, nothing !! The last 30 seconds i said what the heck, so i bid 7,200 and i won it ...
Contacted him and he was kinda stunned that it only had one bid and for the minimum and told him i would come down the next day.. I live near Bend Oregon he was by SanJose Cali lol long drive for me.... GPS said like 545 miles lol i was stoked and made it in little over 8 hours, when i seen this boat in person i was floored its purdy much flawless and looked like new that scratch he showed in the pic looked not as bad in person, I'll easily be able to rub that out only other thing is ill have to replace the MaterCraft Stickers there like 54 dollars each...Best EBay purchase ever

:O :huh  <----stunned...
Hey, you got another one of those lucky horse shoes...and maybe some spare money to help a fella out? My luck, that scratch in the hull would end up with 2 pieces of a boat.

In some cases that tactic can bite you in the arse, but man looks like you got a great deal. Just put her in the water first to confirm :lol
Mastercraft makes some very nice boats, and if that runs anywhere near what it should you'll have a blast :aok

Druski, thanks :salute It now has 429 hours on it and its better than i even expected, i work at a resort on the water so using it wasn't a problem :D me and my son have had a blast in it. and wakeboarding has made some great memories, had a blast pulling him and his friends all around and the boat performed excellent, the old owner gave me all the maintenance records and he just purchased the Tower and Top Combo for 3,945 less than 40 hours on a new borg-warner V drive which was around 2,600 new new brass 4 blade prop really launches it out of the hole, tops out about 56 mph , all in all I'm very pleased with it and look forward to next summer , its still warm here so i have a few more runs this season
.......tosses....... horse shoe to gyrene81 :aok

My dad has an old BellBoy with a V8 inboard that I absolutely love...but it was stashed is a barn for decades and certainly needed some fixing. As soon as we had it all squared away for a few rides, I noticed a change in the sound of the motor and bubbles coming from the prop. Dad being the way he is just told me that was normal, forget it.
Turned out the seal between the coolant seawater and the aft-starboard cylinder had broken and the engine had been cycling seawater through it. When we ran the boat all the time it wasn't much of a problem except the obvious drop in power, but when it was parked after dad hurt his back, obviously the cylinder rusted solid. Huge mechanic/biker dude with a breaker bar the length of my leg twisted the bolt head and it didn't budge at all.
Only grudge I hold against my dad. :p Hope that boat treats you right. I'd love to be back out on the sea.
