I got a turk mauser that I am going to be re-barreling to 6.5x55 mm. I am going to be drilling and tapping the reciever for Scope mounts. What I probably will end up doing is not blueing the rifle, but stripping the action down and then polishing it, along with the barrel.

Okay.

WTG arian, more guns is better than less guns!!! OF ANY KIND, IMO!!!
Is it a full length rifle, or a Karabiner? Straight or turndown bolt handle?
Have you ever drilled a reciever before?
Stay safe, have fun...

It was a full length rifle, I have had the barrel off of it for about a year now. The bolt handle is straight. I plan on cutting the bolt handle to a certain point, then heating it up and bending it down. That will leave a gap that I will then have a machine shop put some weld in. I saw a stock on midway usa that I liked a lot. It was a laminated one with a thumb hole on it. I will post pictures when I get started.

The only question that matters- will it take a bayonet? :t

I got the barrel in today, I am still working on the receiver. The only tools that I need to acquire now is the reamer, and the go and no go headspacing gauges. I will be making an action wrench and barrel vise. I plan on doing more stuff like this in the future, so it will be a good investment.
