Post by: Oldman731 on September 24, 2009, 12:32:25 PM
Take the time to stop into AvA and see the new Greece map.  It's really something to see.  Our thanks go out to its creators.

New people out of the training arena, its a good place to practice and blow stuff up or fight each other and have the bullets actually count. Give it a whirl!

Now that you mention that, we'd appreciate any information people might have on the air forces involved in the 1941 Balkans campaign.  Doesn't appear to be the best-documented subject on the web.

First of all, I want to give my congratulation to the staff. The map is great.
I can inform you  about the Greek fighters and bombers only.
There are many, but most of them if not all they are not in AH list. Main types that served with Royal Hellenic Air Force during the Italian invasion in Greece (28 October 1940) and during the operation Marita (German invasion in Greece 6 April 1941) until the end of campaign in Crete (May 1941) are:

PZL 24, Gloster Gladiator, Dornier 22, Marcel Block MB 151, Potez 633, Henschel Hs 126, Bristol Blenheim.

Here is a link that will you a general idea

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_historic_aircraft_of_the_Hellenic_Air_Force (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_historic_aircraft_of_the_Hellenic_Air_Force)

As it concern the AvA in place of PZL 24 the I-16 looks as a fine compromise to me. Maybe the CM staff should consider the possibility to enable the I-16.
