I'm running XP. Didn't use to have this problem. Started after last update i guess. This have anything to do with compatibility mode?

You should not have to run compatibility mode anymore.

Check your "films" folder.  If it has too many films in it, Windows will not be a happy camper.

just for reference, Skuzzy.....but what might determine "too many films"? is there a set limit?

I have went as high as 290/291 films before cleaning (archiving them) out.......

I started having issues with recordings at about the 300 mark on XP but I havent allowed it to get that close for about two years now.

I do it like this. Created an AH backup folder. Under that I have subfolders Films_1, Films_2,....

Whenever AH films folder has about 50 films, I just move those to a new folder keeping AH films folder clean.

Mutley.

Yep, too many films I reckon. I deleted a bunch and now I'm good to go again. Thanks for the help.  :salute

I really thought this would have been clear in the thread.

If you have too many files in the films folder, Windows will not allow another file to be created and this will cause instability in the entire operating system.  Being dumped from the game is an operating system side effect.

We have no control over this.
