This according to Guinness is the Worlds Fastest Production Car Pricetag of alittle over $685,000.00 Dollars and its Made in America, West Richland in Washington State, Sure its way over my head and most others but sure beats the performance of those European Cars that are well over the one million plus pricetag..

Is it actually made in Washington? All I see is that they performed the top-speed test here...but I didn't look very hard.
-
I'd like to see somebody race it off road :rofl
-
They'd end up like Richard Hammond.
-
well it says made in USA,
but ya a very sick car, there may be one car i take over a challenger :aok

This is what makes me curious, since all I found was that it was tested there.

That twin turbo is a friggin beast. 9.9 sec quarter mile? Yes please :aok

Spiffy.

OOZ, click there website link all there info is on there... also i did a wikipedia search which also brought up alot of info... feel free to look .. :aok

I read the Wiki article on the car (read the summary, scanned the rest) and didn't find it, so I decided to be lazy and ask here. :D
-
That skidpad performance doesnt look very good considering the power to weight ratio!
Would likely be a squirrely ride around any decent track and outright dangerous on the road.
But it is FAST..... :aok

In my opinion skid pad numbers are misleading. I don't think the cars go around skip pads fast enough for aerodynamics to come into play.
Besides, isn't slightly over 1g above average for most production cars, and on par with many so called super cars? I just checked, and the Enzo was tested at VIR and achieved 1.05g on the skid pad, and it isn't exactly a dog around a track.
What "decent track" resembles a skid pad?
-
While I'll not claim to be an expert,I've always thought skidpad performance as a measure of a cars cornering ability.
IIRC,it was sometime in the 80's that the vette could approach 1g in cornering and I know todays F1 cars pull 4 to 5 g's in the corners.
Now I havent spent the time to look up the latest and greatest cars and there skidpad performance numbers,it seemed to me as being rather unimpressive.
As for your question, well it's a loaded question and I wont attempt to answer!
:salute

Call me once it's been round the Nurburgring.

And those same F1 car probably don't do a whole lot better than a production car around a skid pad. It's all about the aero at track speeds for F1 and other aero dependent race cars.
I'd say for a race car like a Formula Ford, skid pad number may have more relevance.
For all I know you are correct, and that thing will be a total dog. I just wanted to point out that skid pad numbers aren't all there is to cornering fast.
The other thing to consider is the loads are relatively static around a skid pad. Where on a track you brake, turn in, hit the apex, and accelerate. Much more dynamic than a skid pad.
I'm no expert either, but I don't think I'm too far off the mark.

Leave it to Shelby.
-
You know he's not related to Carrol Shelby right?

They set the record in 2007.
The last press release about this car was in 2008.
In July of 2009, they announced,
"Jones & Son Chassis, Inc., North America's premier custom motorhome chassis designer has entered into an exclusive agreement with SSC Green Inc. of West Richland, Washington to integrate SSC Green's All Electric Scalable Powertrain (AESP) to produce a hybrid motorhome chassis platform."
What a leap.

Its a gorgeous car for sure and I wonder what the motor home will look like .
Nutte :salute

remember arc1?

I remember Andre Agassi returning his Vector W8 for a full refund. :rofl
-
It looks absolutely stunning. A true shame if it doesn't get into production. :frown:
-
I think I prefer the Veyron.
It's only four miles an hour slower.
-
Does it go around corners too or is it like every other american car...only good in a straight line.
-
doesn't it look exactly like a mclaren F1?
-
Specs are impressive but...eBay head lights, pep boys fog lights, giant gaps between panels, not mentioning overall look. What the hell? It looks like something Korean from 80's
-
Looks like the front of a Zonda, and the arse of a Lambo...either way its pretty smurfy and I'd be interested in the build quality and to see how it goes around a track
Tronsky

Ditto. Zonda and Diablo hybrid.

now, this is getting funny.
i'm sure that had the title read "made in UK" or "made in italy" you schmucks would be all droolin all over it. :rofl

if it were made in italy, cause then it would actually look the part, you would be droolin all over it too ;)
And I agree it looks like a lambo rear ended a zonda

Bah, it is a blatant rip off CAP. First thing I noticed. They're only making 25 of these, btw.

actually, i wouldn't.
i don't much care for the euro "supercars" :aok

Apparently neither does Shelby, that explains low standards:)

i didn't see any huge gaps in that pic.

Forget the time. Look at the trap speed. :O

yea......
my 68 camaro ran 9.90's easily. was only doing 131mph though.

There is only so much power you can put down in the lower gears.
131@<10 is an amazing trap. 144MPH is shazaam mental.
-

That's exactly what I'm talking about, you dont see it my friend:)

correct....'cause they're not there. thus the build quality must be better than you state.
it could be a ferrari, or a lambo, with 1/2 inch gaps at the fenders, and you'd drool over it. :D
-
It's just an amazing car... when i watched the program that i first seen it on, it was just amazing to watch that car perform, they could smoke the tires at 200 mph shifting thru the gears...
-

Unlike this car none of Ferrari's look like creation of Saturn design buro. This is just terrible....head lights not even flush with body, they look like they melted in,that explanes gaps on top of them. It seems like they couldn't come up with right shape head light so they just cut desired shape hole in the body and covered Chinese looking head light with it.
-
fastest production car? :lol when they did the "record" they hadnt shipped (or even built afaik) a single customer car. how many have they built now I wonder? this time last year they had orders for 10. It may be fast but to be a true supercar it has to be desirable too. I know the economy isnt great, but it wont touch most of the people able to spend this much on a car. Even mclaren sold over 100 F1s in a recession at over twice the price.

I should have said "leave it to a Shelby". Must have something to do with the name.
