"bf 109-k 14 delivered in small numbers during the last two weeks of the war ( like hog c?) the 109 k 14 was the ultimate version of the bf 109 series , and was characterized by the use of the db 605L engine with a two stage super charger and the mw 50 metanol.water power boost system , hp at 1700hp for take off and 1300hp at 31,000 feet (!!!!!!!) the capabilitys of this engine allowed the k14 to attain the same maximum speed as the bf 109 k4 but at a altitude of 37,730 feet (!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!) rather than 19,685 the armement was either the mk 103 or 108 30 mm cannon and two .51 inch mg 131 .
yea baby this would be a cool plane screw the spit 14
-
That would be great , even have all the jets , even the gloster meteor. But have the scoring (if it ever gets "fixed") take into account the type of ac someone is flying , i.e. u kill a jet in a zero u get 3x the points or if you kill a zero in a me262 you get 1/3 the pts or whatever ...ect ect ect.~~~~~~~BTW HTC , the tempest looks really close to the tiffy , seems it should be next plane out. (http://bbs.hitechcreations.com/smf/Smileys/default/smile.gif) IMHO.

Yup, K14 was very fast, not many of them ever saw action but it was fast :-)
Top speed was 450Mph, don't know at what alt it did that though.

Everything I have on the 109 says that the K4 was the only K produced in any number. With a very small amount of K6's delivered just before wars end (the exact wording is "only a handful").
I can't even find a listing for a K14, where are you guys finding this information?
I do know Funked has done alot of research on the 109 and has repeatedly said that anything beyond the K4 was only a prototype or never actually produced.

Only 2 109 K14's saw action during the war, they were delivered to II/JG52 in April 1945.

"Warplanes of the Third Reich" says a few K-6 and K-14 were delivered. No specific numbers though.

"Fighters of World War II"
Must be a high number of books with that name but that's the one.

Only two planes?
Perfect; one for me, and one for my wingie. (http://bbs.hitechcreations.com/smf/Smileys/default/biggrin.gif)
And don't use the numbers argument; over 200c's have been shot down already, so they should be out, too (http://bbs.hitechcreations.com/smf/Smileys/default/biggrin.gif)

About the Bf-109 K-14:
Proposed engine DB605L with 2-stage supercharger and 9.6 Km "Volldruckhöhe", using 4-bladed VDM 9-12199 propeller.
Aerodynamically it probably had all the (visually very hard to recognize) improvements incorporated, that had to be skipped for the mass production of K-4.
Performance:
Using the 30 min climb/combat power:
initial climbrate: 14.0 m/s
Top speed vs altitude:
520 Km/h at 0 m
658 Km/h at 8.4 Km
668 Km/h at 9.0 Km
695 Km/h at 10.5 Km
Using the MV-50 ADI boosted emergency power:
Climbrate: 18.0 m/s (fully loaded)
Speed vs altitude:
542 Km/h at 0 m
690 Km/h at 7.5 Km
723 Km/h at 10.5 Km
Armament:
2* 13mm MG-131 over the engine
1* 30mm MK-108 thru the spinner
2* 30mm MK-108 installed INSIDE wings (so no drag penalty of gunpods)
So essentially the same armament as in K-6.
But were they ever really delivered?
Serial production never materialized, that's sure. There is an alleged assignment of 2 K-14 prototypes to II/JG 52, but it is not confirmed by the unit's CO, Maj. W. Batz. He does not remember seeing any 109's with four bladed propellers in his unit. Still, there is a theoretical possibility of prototypes delivered to operational unit during the mess of the last days of the Third Reich.
Another story by a II/JG 53 officer Maj. Julio Maimberger: At the turn of February and March of 1945 he was visited by a Daimler-Benz employee. After an obvious chat about aircraft topics, the employee said they had a Bf 109 in Malmsheim, that had all the possible improvements installed in it "from engine to cockpit" and that it was the best 109 they had. Meimberg, of course, wanted to try such a machine. After a short talk the man from DB decided to "present" the aircraft to Meimberg. Ofhr Severin, Meimberg's wingman, was to fly the aircraft from Malmsheim. He took off with the machine on March 11, 1945 but on his way he crashed into a hillside near Geislingen and died. Loss report describes the aircraft as Bf 109 Wnr 331 446, ie. Bf 109 K-4. It is highly probable that this machine was a K-4 rebuilt to K-14 standard, as it was said to have all the possible improvements INCLUDING the engine.

Hmmm.... the Luftwaffe contingent generally is the first to scream and complain about the -1C, (150 produced) an aircraft that definitely saw documented combat in multiple squadron numbers.
But then you guys step forward to support an aircraft that might have had a total of two aircraft delivered to a combat.
Come on guys, I'm starting to see a double standard evolve (http://bbs.hitechcreations.com/smf/Smileys/default/wink.gif)
Sorry but two aircraft that may or may not have seen combat, are not production aircraft.
But hey, I will support your K14's, if you support my F2G Super Corairs. After all, there were 3 times as many of them produced. (http://bbs.hitechcreations.com/smf/Smileys/default/tongue.gif) But I will settle for the P-51H or the Yak-3P.

I think we're getting AIM-120's and AIM-9X's in version 1.06. Along with F-117, F-16C, F-15E, and B-52H.
