Title: EVGA Precision utility
Post by: Max on September 29, 2009, 09:46:07 AM
Anyone know if this utility is compatible with non EVGA Nvidia cards? I'm mainly interested in monitoring GPU core temps in AH with an ASUS Geforce GTX 260M

My assumption is it won't be.

Probably not but you can always use CPUID Hardware Monitor:

Precision will give an error "No compatible hardware detected" if a non-EVGA card is being used, so I've found (plugged a 7900GS into my comp with it installed).  You can Download it and try if you want, it's not a big file.

Why use Precision though?  Only real advantage I've found is the OSD it supplies.

How would you turn the fans up in speed without it? I would love to know that!

You can control fans alone with RivaTuner version 2.24 Link http://www.guru3d.com/index.php?page=rivatuner (http://www.guru3d.com/index.php?page=rivatuner)

Ouch! Tried that before and it did not get along with my OS.
