Is adding palm trees to the terrain "Pacificy" enough, or should we just go ahead and go all out?

:aok
Perhaps some volcanic islands (i.e., dormant calderas and shrubbed-over cones)?
-
Its not the "Pacific" until you have soft beaches, bikinis and umbrella drinks!
:D
Keep goin!

Yes

Is there a way to make the non-coastal water a deeper shade of blue? Here is a nice example of the difference between the shallows of an atoll and the ocean that surrounds it:

How about this?

This shot is Trunk Bay in St.John,U.S.V.I.
I once had a tourist at the bar ask me for three bottles so they could take home all the different colors of water. :D

I've been there, looked right out at the EXACT same view off the side of the road. I have a picture of it on my cell phone, (me and friends go there every year)

do you still have the bottles of water........ :D
Ranger, that is one nasty looking dormant volcano.

I think most will agree that one caldera is more than enough. :D
-
hey rang
the volcano looks "too red" if you know what i mean...can it be more orangey??
falc
-
Put in some coral reefs or mine fields or something to keep the fleet from getting too close to the shore!
I'm beggin ya!! :pray

Dormant volcano is better unless it has smoke billowing.
Needs hula girls
-
perhaps a some rainbows........oh oh.....and a Linens N Things........

Billowing smoke is next (yes it's doable).
Falc, I hear ya. I'm testing a few different lava effects til I find the right one.

A cloud of volcanic ash would sort out the 262's

Ash induced flamer outs?
-
Yep, it's possible Gava
Cool. Great work so far, thank you.
-
Where can we use those maps?
-
Awesome work.
Go all out on it.

Nice! :)
I don't think the object models exist for it, but some half-sunk ship hulks sticking out in a few atoll lagoons here and there would give it a war-theater feel.
Looking good; congrats USRanger.

That is just a beautiful terrain Ranger :salute

Ok, totally redid the volcano. Opinions?

If it looks good enough, all there is left to do is add the billowing smoke. Though this is for an offline mission, it might make a nice centerpiece for a TT island on an MA terrain. There's nothing in the MA terrain rules that would prevent having something like this.
-
Looks a wee bit steep at the peaks, but otherwise...
-
It's not meant to be driven up, just eye candy. The average alt at the top is around 7k. Normally, this type of thread would be in the terrain editor forum, I just wanted to show the general population what is possible with the new version.

Can you model some of these just off the fields. Don't bail out just anywhere fellas!~

Mommy, I'm Scared!
I was thinking more of Dorothy Lamar who played in the "On the Road to, movies with Bob Hope and Bing Crosby.
-
It looks like there is too much "green" on the sides of the peak. There would be less vegetation on the slopes so I think it should look more rocky.

Or there might be strips or dead patches on the side of the volcano. Lava doesn't flow uniformly down a volcano.

Looks like the Grinch has a zit. :D

I have an average system and run the Pacific terrain pictured just fine. Actually, there are only a couple custom textures used. The rest was done just working with the new Terrain Editor. You'd have the same impact, as far as I can tell from testing, as you would from any of the existing AvA/SEA terrains.
The Halloween treat, well, we'll see here soon. ;) It will be a terrain/offline mission package.
