I've tried just about everything guys.
Textures are 256 now. I even tried resolution @ 1024 but to no avail... Still get studders when surrounded by others. Also, my frame Rate seems to be capped @ 59 no matter where I go. Before I could get FR's in the 100s when looking up, but now it seems I cannot get above 59. Even in CMeye mode looking straight up into the blue, it's stuck @ 59. I used to get into the 80s-100s when looking up. All my gfx are down too.
I did do a PC restore to see the difference. I did download SP3. If I only should be on Sp2, please let me know b4 I start adding the programs I normally would use.
*Also, I lost Vox in the SEA1 tonight twice - had to .resetv twice.
Not sure what to do. Thanks guys,
Mathis

I can't answer the stutter issue, but I'm guessing you didn't have v-sync enabled prior and now that it is on your FPS is cap'd at 59.
-
I would say the same thing. Mathis do you use Nvidia? and have you ever used nHancer? (please say no to that last question)
EDIT: NVM I see your on ATI.
-
What in-game settings are being used (both "Video Settings" and "Options->Graphic Detail->Advanced")?
Are you forcing any options in the video card control panel (anti-aliasing, anisotropic...)?
-
Also, v-sync is a good thing in this game, so don't disable it to get your massive frame rates back. :) So long as it stays above about 40, your eyes won't be able to detect it. If you really want, up your monitor's frequency (it's currently 60Hz but operating at 59Hz, for some reason) to another supported frequency and the max FR will follow it.
The stutters, however, are another problem.
-
All advanced Gfx settings are un-checked. No anti-aliasing is on either (all of them are 'let the program decide" for ati). Video Settings: Res - 1280x800, Texture size 256. Disable V-sync is un-checked. 0 Anti-ailasing on slider. Auto set field of view.
Thanks
Note: Frame Rates were in the Teens last night at the races. Had about 20 guys/gals on the track, which is why I assume the frame rate loss.

I just looked at the ATI settings, and I turned "Mip-map detail" and "Wait for Vertical refresh" all the way to performance.
I have FR's in the 100s when looking up again in offline mode. I haven't been in the MA around lots of peeps yet. Will report feedback when I do.

Frame Rates are holding for the most part now, including screaming along the deck and through hangers. My only major Issue I have it seems is the Studdering.
I get studders all over the place, and really affects game playability.
EDIT: Just got into a TT furball. Frame rates in the 12-14 range. Studders are even worse. Sound keeps getting screwy and goes in and out near cons @ high speed/firing...
-
i also have the stuttering no matter how high or low i make settings and have tried everything. I have a nvidea too and yesterday i was messing with desk top settings and turned my refresh rate on my monitor down to 60 and on the card to 60!! yeah i know that sucks but now the stuttering seems to have lessened some.
I think the stuttering comes from the drop and increase in some peoples frame rates and by lowering my frame rates by lowering my refresh rate has lessened the problem for me SO FAR lol, but i can still tell it isnt right but im thinking its the best us with the nvidea and duel core processor can do for now

BMathis, when frame rates get down in the teens, stutters are going to happen. It is unavoidable.
Low frame rates, like those, are usually indicative of the CPU not being able to keep up. What does the in-game "Variance" look like in the "Net Status" graph?
-
BMathis... I have to wonder if you have something screwy going on with your system.. maybe CPU overheating or spyware/virus or something of the sorts.
If I remember correctly, you have a fairly capable system that should still scream for the most part at 256 textures with all advanced graphics options off.
I've played with outdated hardware in the past and seen FR's in the teens and stutters, but without sound anomalies like you describe (using onboard sound) which leads me to think that something may be bogging down your system.
Post your system specs, how many processes your are running and your CPU Usage percentage while idling (CTRL+ALT+DEL then on the bottom with no programs running).
-
I know low FR's can lead to studders. But when frame rates are high, should I not have the studders? Even when I CM events, my screen studders in CMeye. Variance seems normal. I'll try to get a screenie when I get back on.
I updated my drivers, and it did nothing... It actually messed with the game some. I could actually see the .BMP skin for the aircraft selected in the hanger, on the clipboard map while in the tower... That's funny. It didn't affect what I saw while flying though.
My system used to scream Tigger. Dunno what's going on, as it's just this version. I've done a PC restore (back to original everything). Hell I made HD vids, and pictures of Aces High before the new version. :rock
I can do and play everything else fine. Maybe it's time for an upgrade. :(
Thanks for the help guys, it's much appreciated.

:old: Wait one freaking minute...
I download this new version. Hop in a plane (yes the 47M), and start climbing. No studders, check the frame rate. 188!!!
I was getting almost 200 looking up. Never seen that before!!! So I keep flying into the red dar bar to see if it's a fluke, or perhaps some genius in grapevine fixed my computer while I was asleep last night...
I got into a 5v5 close dogfight: NO STUDDERS!!!!
Thank you for fixing the issues Skuzzy and the rest of you HTC CPU Guru's! VERY Much appreciated. Let's hope this doesn't come back. :pray

Sounds like your VSync turned off too.
