whelp///////
that was in the DA?
what i saw, was you pick a n1k. then i saw you and a corsair pick a temp that was in a low fight. then i saw you vulch the temp as he tried to land. then i saw you get outta dodge, to go land your 2 kills.
you might wanna pull that vid, and save yourself some embarrassment sir.

:rofl
Actually I shouldn't laugh, as I didn't watch the film &I've never heard of either of these guys film & shouldn't judge, but I've flown in the Pick Bowl a few times & can already visualize what happened by Cap's description. Sounds like any other night in the DA.

The DA is a wonderful wonderful thing. It keeps those folks out of the MAs.

the DA had a bad name before those two cats got there. I flew in there for a few months exclusively earlier in the year, and I was in there tonight, its is ALOT better tonight. Just a horde of 190s that was alot of fun to fight thru. Cactus was the only problem I saw, picking on everyone in his dweeb38. People like that should join a group.

Is it you that I kick in the nuts for making me waste 17 minutes of my life watching what has to be one of the biggest examples of poor BFM, no ACM skills and basic over all piss poor flying?
CAP1 was spot on with his description of the flight. You tried to pick a N1K2 that was fighting someone else and you did a very piss poor job of that, showed absolutely no understanding of either BFM or ACM. Then you engage a Tempest that was fighting a Corsair, again displaying a lack of knowledge of BFM and ACM. The only reason you managed to score a kill against him is you had to wait until he tried to ditch dead stick. Seriously, you're trying to use this video as an example of your good flying and someone else's poor flying? I would consider this attempt a failure of epic proportions.
Also, the chat buffer didn't show Oddball8 saying he claimed you HO'd him, the only one throwing HO accusations around was you. You also lied about not picking him, when the film clearly shows you diving down on him as he was enaged with a Corsair and turn it into a 2v1 fight. Of course, why is of no surprise that after you pick the Tempest and vulch him as he's ditching dead stick, you tuck tail and run like a timid little tool?
Frankly, the film showed someone sucking big time but it wasn't Oddball8.

A vulch is where you drop on someone rrom high altitude which is not so in this case although I did utilize some E to get altitude a big 1.2k then after the kill I was at 258 mph on the deck.
A "vulch" is not picking someone from 'high altitude', it's attacking someone as they are either taking off or landing, just like what you did against the Tempest. If you don't know the game's lingo, take some time to learn it and while you're at it, find a trainer to teach you BFM and ACM.

I get 1 on 1's all the time when flying at Dweeb Lake. I am the plane the nme think is running who is actually dragging 'em away from the hoard and pick weenies to kill quick. Durn near every fight like that starts with the nme d400-800 on my 6 and they tend to be dead in just a few moves.
Nobody thinks there are not 1 on 1's at dweeb lake. We DO tend to think most the fights are exactly like what you filmed.
Little to no BMF or ACM and mostly hoarders and picks weenies.
Nothing personal at all in the above statements. You seem to be actually TRYING to learn this game and I respect and encourage your enthusiasm. What you NEED to do is grab a 1/2 dozen or so hour long training sessions with one of AcesHigh fantastic Trainers. You would be amazed at what you will learn (and how little you really understand about Aerial Combat) from them and in no time at all, with some hard work and practice, you too will refer to that section of the DA as Dweeb Lake.

ack ack let me ask you a question if your fighting someone and you kill there engine, you let them ditch? Exactly, no one does. I agree with you on the lingo only if the landing is on the proper runway otherwise it's a ditch.

I can respect that Lute for the way you held professionalism in your statement. Can't stand SA comments like CAP1 and ack ack more so ack ack. I have lots of 1on1's in the lake as well and I'm at 7 months in I think I'm doing o.k. I've learned alot and know I got a long way to go. I just got through flying 12 hours last night. I am planning on doing some training with a trainer here in the next couple of weeks. I leave Friday to go on a cruise for a week. Bought Robert's Shaw book on Aerial Combat and Maneuvers to read on the boat. Going to be going through withdrawals. Thank you for your comment

GREAT book.
That is the "Bible" for all fighter pilots. I have a treasured copy of that book that an ex got for me that came from the USAF Academy Library. I think about how many countless Air Force pilots learned the fundementals of how to fly/fight reading that particular book. (best gift a chick ever bought me)

When I fist started flying AirWarrior 13-14 some odd years ago, I went to sites like the above and printed out durn near everythig they had. I put it all into several 3-ring binders and read them every chance I could. I even took at least one with me to work to peruse during lunch and breaks. For at least the first year I was constantly reading everything I could get my hands on and finding players who could teach me.
Heck, some/much of it is still there at netaces. ('mastering the merge' for example.) It was kinda neat just now looking over the names of the people who wrote some of the articles and remembering flying with/against 'em. These were my "idols" when I first started playing. (Still are I guess. S! to them)
Kudos to you TnDep and might I add that I somewhat envy you. That first year or two when I was learning (not that you ever STOP learning this stuff) about how to fly and fight in a WW2 bird are some of my favorite memories of this hobby.

I find it funny how people think the MA and DA are any different from each other. :rofl
