Make tank town bases uncapturable so the gvers can fight it out to their hearts content. That is the whole purpose for tank town. Some clowns capture TT just to ruin it for the rest. I watched as many people on 200 asked the bish to leave tank town alone. But like the spoiled children they are they took the bases anyway. WHY?? theres no need to ruin it for the gvers just because these bases are rarely defended. You could train a one eyed monkey with ADD to take an undefended Vbase. Give the Gvers a break HTC and make them uncapturable.

Ridiculous... if GVs are your only involvement in the game then you have four arenas to choose from.

My self & a few of my squad thought off a bunch of nits trying the same thing at the Bish TT vbase? It goes around & around. The only reason I knew they were trying was a goon flew over me on the way to the base. Now at that time no one was in TT in tanks but me & one other guy. So the noobs see an opportunity & went for it what can you do.

Check TT in Orange, substitute Bish for Rooks

+1 to idea. Whenever I see a "mission" being made to "capture teh TT bases" I just announce it on 200. Also giving goon coordinates is funny too.

I spend most of my time in a GV so I can agree with the leave TT alone side of the argument......... but one thought to the contrary.
This would essentially cripple the "win the war" majority of players, as some maps make it very hard to reset without capturing TT bases.
While I would say its not impossible to reset without them..... its that much more difficult as you would have to know be taking bases on the other side of HQ and facing 2 enemies stopping you from taking the same bases.... such as NDISLES.... you would have to capture the entire HQ island if you couldnt take the 2 TT bases.
Like I said its very aggravating to lose the best GV fights on the map....... especially since on some maps like the current LWO map its done for only 1 reason ..... to spite the other side.

Bish start running across taking all the gv bases while they have numbers......... later rooks have numbers so they run across and taking all the gv bases...... then bish get numbers and take every base including the airfields.......... then rooks get numbers and take every base including the airfields........ havent been in yet today so dont know who has em at the moment......... but IM guessing most if not all are owned by 1 country.
So it swings both ways in the argument....... there are reasons to leave them capturable.... but I can also see the reasoning behind making them uncapturable.

thats how it happened this week mabe we keep the runways and 1 V base uncapturable

we have that and no one uses it they fight from V2 to A1 on that map... cant recall the name of map. its the best TT you could ask for and no one goes there.

The point of the game is to capture bases.... I've swiched sides to help defend the TT once or twice, but only when there was some nic, big, slugging matches going on... You could argue that airbases closer than a sector should be uncapturable. And if most of the GV'ers were more interested in fighting then base taking, they would have helped you.

Really?? according to who you talk to the game seems to be about WW2 air to air combat and others would say its about WW2 combat simulation. There are those that live and die for the reset. If takeing TT is all so important to do then add 3 vbases per side away from TT and make TT bases uncapturable and not the key to get a reset.. That way all the win at all cost players can still capture those 3 precious vbases to try and get the reset. Even though they will actually have to fight for them instead of the sneak they do on TT.

The reason that HiTech stated for not making TT bases uncapturable is that it encourages gameplay.
Yes, some people are going to be pissed that you took TT. (The entire point of this game is to generally piss someone off, in his words) That means that if they care enough about it, they'll get together and go take it back, resulting in fun for all sides.

Thats what I said... If enough people want to have a fight rather than take bases, then the bases will stay in your hands.... Really, wirb, and osti can kill a goon easy, all troop carriers (with the possible exception of jeeps due to small target size and speed) are easy kills. So unless hangers were down you don't really have a huge excuse for letting the bases get captured....

let the bases be captured, but get rid of the ords and buffs at tt. let it be a true, fiter on fiter, gv on gv fight. only allow the air bases to be taken using buffs, goons from near bases.

You realize all this could be done in the dueling arena correct? just have everyone on who wants to have a GV fight go to the dueling arena and have a sluggfest!

then lets get rid of all the arenas and just have a dueling arena. I mean what can be done on the regular arenas that cant be done in the DA. sheesh, they call it tt for a reason.

Exactly right tank town means exactly that. Its a place for main arena gvers to go when they feel the need to have a shooting match with other tanks from other countries. As well as a place where some fly fighters and have a turn fight in the canyon over tank town. The TT bases serve only as a point for the tankers to start from then spawn to TT. That is the reason they are not normally defended most hop in the tower then spawn immediately to TT. The DA is just a place for 40 year old adolecents to try and prove their manhood. Back in the day TT was primarily left alone and we could sit there all day fighting it out over a town that is inconsiquintial to the winning the war. Nemisis i dont see where youre outright criticism of the fact that TT should be left to the tankers and made uncapturable. The only reasoning i can take from youre comments is that you are one of the landgrabber win at all cost players. I myself enjoy going to TT when there are no squadmates on and just havein a good time shooting it out with the other gvers in the game. But when all the bases have been takein by one country or another it ruins it for those of us that enjoy that aspect of the game. Why should the landgrabbers be catered to and the rest of us suffer because of it? I still stand behind my original comment that TT bases should be uncapturable.

I have no problem with leaving TT to GV'ers. I've never attacked TT from the air. Hell, I won't even go after a bomber someone already is closer to. One of my objections is that if we roll on past it, others from your team will get a giant hoard there, and hit us in the side. You can't even tell me I'm wrong.

Nope. I grab land, but that is just about tied with fighting as its ususally when there are no good VG spawns and I can't get a good GV fight or when we just lost a good base

So do I. When I'm alone, I'll gun or drive for someone, or else just go alone.

I object because you're whining about the game getting in the way of the game. You can't see the forest through the trees. This whole thread is just whine with no pics in it because it has enough support that it hasn't reached the point with 2 people posting back and forth trying to keep it going while everyone walks by.

Youre trying to make this about one country vs another. Im makeing this about all TT bases all 3 of them be uncapturable. You still havent made a case for why TT bases should be left as they are. However ive stated my case for why they should be made uncapturable. You call it a whine i call it a good case for adding to the GV competition in the game. This is a wishlist if you didnt read the topic when you came in. This is a wish im sure alot of die hard GVers would welcome.

It will be about the same as gv's being able to teleport the the TT at will, and then going base grabbing....
My other objection is that your whining about people playing the game. Its kind of like someone getting pissed because someone clearly outmatched ran from a fight.....

Tank town is there so GV types can enjoy a good ground slugfest.
They are not attacking nme fields or trying to capture them.
They are not involved in "winning the war" what so ever.
What is so difficult with letting them have their fun?
They are not doing a single thing to impede on your or others fun so why would you mess with theirs?
It is about simple courtesy.

There is NO good reason to capture a TT base.

Not so much as HT is concerned. Or, at least, was in 2003. I could really care less, since I've never been good in a massive-wad situation and ignore the place.

If GV's can't go past 10 miles from the outer edge of the nearest TT base then OK, unless not NO.
Your asking to disrupt the game so you can shoot cartoon tanks all day. Thats not really fair....
