The first time i saw a P38 in my life :)
It was at the Sanicole Airshow (Belgium) Its the ex white lightning with the beautiful air intakes.
The quality is not very good because of the hazy conditions plus it was literally photographing against the sun.
It flew only two rounds missed a formation pass and landed at a nearby base.
Unfortunately

That original Lightning is totaly pimped the interiour is nothing like it was.
It's the only one flying in Europe.
Indeed shame on the big Red Bull marks but on the other hand it's a great sponsor making them fly.

i'm glad that they're keeping her flying. i thought they were gonna make her into a hangar queen.
i do wish they'd have left the instrument panel alone, and posibly left her in her red, white and blue colors, but at least she's in the air.
i;m jealous......i've not yet seen a p38 in flight in real life. :cry

I saw that plane when it was red white and blue back in '86 or there about. It took off from PRC flew right over our campus so I got a good look at her in flight and not to high up. Very beautiful bird and sounds awesome too. :aok

If you do not like what the owner of an a/c does to it then buy it from them.
