Were p-47's actually used from carriers, or are these pics just an exceptions?

P-47's were never used on carriers, many were ferried via carrier to their base then flown off though.

What chunder said. Those were being ferried from the factory to their operating location.

Actually, these were transported by Escort carrier and launched to fly onto newly captured airfields in the Pacific. They are most certainly not factory fresh aircraft, but were long since assigned to active duty squadrons. These P-47s served in the Southwest Pacific as indicated by their white tails. In the following photo, we see a P-47 of the 318th Fighter Group about to launch off of the USS Manila Bay to land on a newly captured airfield on Saipan in 1944.
Note that these Thunderbolts were launched by catapult due to the small size of the Escort carrier's flight deck. Operating in the central Pacific, these aircraft will not have their tail sections painted white.

I know of one case of Spitfire MkXIVs being flown off of a carrier to new a base. They were combat ready because there were a few Japanese aircraft left in the area, but no combat occured that I am aware of.
