Very nice demonstration on the effect of sloped armor.
-
Very neat clip there thanks.

What were they shooting when water was flying all over the place?
-
Looked like balistic gel.
-
:aok fascinating material

Even seen the footage of a test between a .50 BMG and a Katana? The blade split two bullets, deflected another, then shattered, IIRC.
EDIT: It'd be easier to tell if it were in color, but I think the "water flying all over" is actually metal shards.
EDIT2: Nevermind, didn't get far enough. Heh.
It makes me wonder, seeing how they're acting, if a bullet turns to liquid for a second upon a hard impact like that. The metal looks to be behaving that way as it sheds away.

Fail. (http://i236.photobucket.com/albums/ff255/OOZ662/rolleyes.gif)
Anyways, I thought about it more. Being lead, it would make sense that the metal would liquefy on an impact like that, then quickly cool. It's an interesting tidbit.

This is my favorite bullet shooting video.
The guy shooting this .50 caliber BMG sniper rifle was very lucky indeed. This was a true freak accident.

I've done that with a .22 when I shot a 10x10 inch slab of aluminium, titanium or stainless steel at a junkyard (dont know what exactly it was, didn't rust and was from a paper factory anyway). The bullet ricocheted over the pistol directly between my eyes. I found it at my feet completely flattened. Was lucky it didn't hit the eye. I thought I must have been the only one to manage to do that.. :)
