Title: One of those days
Post by: DCCBOSS on October 09, 2009, 11:16:44 AM
Have you ever had one of those days that last like a week, when you just can't buy a kill or if you get one your killed making the kill and first I thought my joy stick was messed up  :joystick: until I checked everthing and seen it must be me  :uhoh maybe may eyes are shot  :old: I just want to know if any of you guys ran into this from time to time and did you figure out what your were doing or not doing to cause this slump  :headscratch:

Yeah, from time to time.  Lately, it's been from the time I log on to the time I log off.  Taking a few months off had something to do with it (I hope).  :uhoh

It often depends on which countrymen are flying in your immediate vicinity.  Idiots who try to jump on your target while other enemies are inbound drastically lower your chances.

Happens to me all the time, I'm probably one of the streakiest players in AH.  Some nights everything seems to go my way and I hit all my shots, the plane always seems to have E to spare and I can pull any maneuver I want.

Other nights I miss all my shots, I'm constantly checking the manifold pressure gauge because I could swear that the calibration on my throttle is off and I'm only pulling about 60% of the power I should be, any maneuver seems to bring on the buffet and stall as I wallow through the sky.  What's more on those nights apparently my crew chief thought it would be funny to paint a huge bulls eye on my plane, and I swear to myself that it will be the last time I relieve myself in his slit trench rather than wait in line at the latrine.

The biggest thing I try to do is acknowledge that it's a phase and try not to get too mad. I try to make sure I don't play tired, being mentally quick and alert goes along way to playing well I've found.  If the rut is deep and lasting I'll try and head to the TA with a squddie/friend and work on my aerial Kung Fu a bit in a 1v1 situation.  I also try to step back and approach the game more methodically.

This campaign my kill ratio is 0.39.

I Have three kills in my last 6 hours of flight time, with 30 deaths.

one of those kills was a proxy  :lol
Last night I was on for an hour and half and didn't get a single kill.

lately I can't hit anything and when I do it results in no damage. I think I have 25 assissts over that time period

I'm in the middle of one of those weeks right now. Very frustrating, not a lot of chances, even less success. I haven't seen a good fight in a couple of days

There's always a lull. Just keep shooting.

Up a GV or man an ack or gun. Get a feeling for the situation. Watch the planes fly for a bit. Watch old films, these things seem to invigorate me and several others I know.
