Title: <S> A7 attackers
Post by: Anaxogoras on October 10, 2009, 08:48:02 AM
Looks like we ran into JG2 and some others.  We were perched at the altitude limit waiting for an attack.  Then there were reports of multiple 110s much lower and inbound to the target airfield.  I'm not sure if we had much choice in honoring the threat of a jabo attack.  Needless to say, we took the bait and you guys came in above us, and the whole plan of the evening had been to avoid that disadvantage.  I don't think a single Ju-88 took a ping from our aircraft.  :headscratch:

:cry i think I get the "conehead of the day" award. spent all week practicing with the 109E but the last day got into a base defense situation and so took off with 50% fuel for better fighting. Guess what a didnt change before we took off at fso........yup.  Was  duking it out with three hurri's,  had one at 200 yds and......ran out fuel.
But as i went down I want the hurri pilots that to know that I was throwing empty whiskey bottles and screaming profanities at them.

( the shame ...taken prisoner by the brits and forced to eat spotted dick the rest of the war)

Yeah we went for the bait also, as we closed in ,the sky darkened above us, I looked up for a sphincter tightening moment. we couldnt climb our hurri's up to the 88's in time( let alone catch them) and the 109's and 110's made short work of us.

Hats off...nice work

AoM was assigned to Spit1s and to eliminate Ju88's.  I think we killed 1.  There was just no way to take them out with BBs without getting ripped in half by the tail guns.  Huge mismatch.  Not to mention the swarm of 109 escorts.   :)

From when I flew the BoB scenario we figured we had one high speed pass on them before they sped off. After that, it was nothing but flying right up the Ju88s tail...

Not to mention the 110C we have is a supreme ride in the current BoB match up, fly it like a 190 and you are literally invincible.
