A B-29 trivia question for you gents.

What US aircraft type, had the only officially recorded air to air kill of a B29 Superfortress?

Bonus points for the circumstances and where it happened ?  :)

IIRC, it was a P61 Black Widow... the aircrew had bailed out of the B29 but the bomber kept flying into friendly territory (believe it still had bombs on board).

P-61 which made the intercept using IFF only because main radar was down.   :)

For extra bonus points (without looking it up in the article) What damaged (specifically) the B29?

Haven't picked up this month's Flight Journal yet... I read the story about 6 years ago in one of my old mags  :)

A Flak burst took out the left side of the nose/cockpit section taking the pilot but leaving the co-pilot.

Wow, I wish they took photos before they destroyed it!
