A B-29 trivia question for you gents.
What US aircraft type, had the only officially recorded air to air kill of a B29 Superfortress?
Bonus points for the circumstances and where it happened ? :)

IIRC, it was a P61 Black Widow... the aircrew had bailed out of the B29 but the bomber kept flying into friendly territory (believe it still had bombs on board).

P-61 which made the intercept using IFF only because main radar was down. :)

A Flak burst took out the left side of the nose/cockpit section taking the pilot but leaving the co-pilot.
Wow, I wish they took photos before they destroyed it!
