well I made it back alive :aok
what a ride, I took off, I controlled the plane (for the most part) flying level for a bit, taken her through two rolls, and a loop,
all of that was quit easy, it is extremely similar to my setup for AH, except the rudders are a lot harder to push, and the stick also, ever so slightly.
some have complained that there is no wind in AH, well when you are up there you cant feel the wind at all.
all in all a great day, except for the puking part :rofl

Trust me, you will feel the wind eventually. You will be flying level and everything is smooth then you feel a sudden drop with a slight push up and to the left, then back down again...OHHH BOY!!1!!
I remember my discovery flight, awesome experience...went and finished with my Privates and now im in college and a full time job at the bank, so time is an issue with continuing my training. Had to stop with my privates certificate (yes certificate, not license) :cry
I live here in houston, and flyinf over the fred hartman bridge and the ship channel is a sure sight to see from a birds eye

When you start doing aerobatics, the feeling of freedom gives you such a "high" that, yes, Junky, it even compares that what you speak of!

what was the wind when you were up?
i feel it in the cessna 172.

well I was wondering about the wind before the flight, and asked the instructor, he said you don't feel it at all except in your path of flight,
what was the wind when you were up?
i feel it in the cessna 172.
not sure

it's unbelievable, I think it's better cuz it lasts longer, although not as intense for that second LOL
seriously it is amazing.
Awesome INK, I've yet to do this. I will in due time though. :rock
Jay dont screw around, it was the greatest time I have ever had,
that old question will playing AH make/help you learn to fly? absolutely the flying part was truly quit easy, all of it was except the body is not used to the whole flippy floppy thing, so when you do do it,
1 have nothing in your stomach, (wish i listened to that advice)
2 if your like me and didnt listen to the advice about eating, bring some paper towels to wipe the puke of your face, they were nice enough to provide the bag, but no paper towels. :rofl
3 sun glasses
seriously guys it is way worth the money to do it, don't take an introductory flight, that's just taking off and landing, take an acrobatic flight.
driving to work today just aint quit the same.
Good stuff Ink, glad you had a great time (well, cept for the throwing yer ankle bones out obviously).
:salute

hell it was so worth it :aok

So Ink? Gonna do it for real? Get your PPL?
If so drop me a PM - I'm a couple months into training and would be happy to give you a few pointers.

I absolutely am, but it's gonna take awhile I got a lot of kids to feed and business is kinda slow, but no doubt I will get my certificate, pilots license, or whatever it's called.

Not eating is TERRIBLE advice. You are actually less likely to barf if you have a little food in your stomach. Trust me, I've been teaching people to fly military aircraft for over 6 years now and having something to eat for breakfast is a much better way to fend off airsickness.
I recommend having some protein, because it digests slower and gives your digestive tract something to work with instead of just having stomach acid sloshing around in there. A "perfect" breakfast is something like an egg mcmuffin (make your own so it's not as greasy) and a bananna. Why the bananna? Because they taste better coming back up than egg mcmuffin :)
Having an all-carb breakfast will screw with you, so don't just have cereal or a sugary breakfast bar or pop-tart. You'll end up with a sugar/insulin spike/crash, which can add to inflight feelings of distress, which leads to barfing. Get some protein in there, make it a smallish but complete/balanced meal and you'll do better.

this is something that's hard for me to understand. i've never had these problems. i've been up in my friends super decathalon, and he;s played around......and it's a blast....never felt as if i was going to lose my lunch though. :aok

Yo Ink.. Very cool!! I'm about 20 hrs into getting my license.. If you got any questions about what it takes (or what I'm going through) just let me know.. I'd be happy to discuss my experience so far.. :rock

yep.
we checked with mcguire, to be sure the warren grove moa was cold......and went there to play. most pilots around here avoid it, as they're not sure of the rules for going into moa's/..............
yes, that stuff IS A FRAKKIN BLAST!! :aok

ink.........i didn't think when i posted what i did earlier.
i wasn't meaning to sound derogatory towards ya. it's more normal to hurl, then it is to not, in those situations. i was trying to say that i feel i'm lucky that it doesn;t happen to me.
hopefully, you didn't take any insult to what i was saying..i just went through the thread, and it came off to me as if i was being an ass.
sorry dude, if i was...... :aok

Looks great, I very very nearly flew aerobatics in a Decathlon once. But some fog rolled in and we cancelled. What with one thing and another. I never got the chance again.
I agree with Eagl, better to have some food in your stomach than none. I flew in a Pitts Special once, pulled +5g and -2g. I felt sick as a dog afterward until I ate my lunch. Felt much better then, apart from the strained neck!
-
about 6 weeks back I went up in a Slingsby Firefly and did the same stuff loops , rolls, wingovers. It is the same plane Thrila will be learning to fly in with his initial Topgun Training (lucky barsteward).
was a great time and it left me regretting not joining the RAF when I was 18 :(
Had a full english breakfast and didn't come near to puking :D Still waiting on the DVD of my brilliant flying :lol
