No kid?!

looks like he may have fallen out.

Balloon is down and no kid inside it. He may have fallen out.
-
Let me think a bit. I'm 6, cut dad's toy loose what do I do?
I'm hiding so dad doesn't tan my rear.
That's what I'm hoping for.
-
Same here. Hoping for best
-
Wow.... long wait... does not look good.
-
Now they are saying there had been a small box hanging from the bottom of the balloon when it got loose. The kid may have been in that and it came loose sometime before the helo's started following it.

CNN just reported that the boy has been found alive and well. He was hiding because he thought he'd be in trouble.
-
Holy cow!! The Kid hid for 3 hours...someone needs to send that boy to Scout/Sniper school...after his father tears him a new one of course.

Even filled with helium that thing is not big enough to carry a 6 year old boy..... Emotion up intellect down.

I found this absolutely the funniest 3 hours of television in my entire life..... Talk about tabloid!!
One of the "experts" on MSNBC said the kid is probably suffering from hypoxia!!! LMAO Ok, hypoxia at a few thousand feet....lol
And then he says that at 3000 feet, the air is only 30 degrees!! WHAT A sweetheartMASTER!!!
AND THEN, MSNBC didn't show the balloon gently touching the ground(they said it crashed) for fear of a blue, oxygen starved 6 year old falling out...LMAO
To watch the sweetheartbags from CNN and MSNBC rattle off nonsense, prejudging the parents, already labeling them as bad....
What was even funnier was the people they got on the phone who pretty much couldn't give them any other facts....lol
They kept on asking this one "balloon expert" the same 3 questions 200 different ways.... My gods.... Our news media is a joke...lmao
Liberal, Conservative or otherwise....

Umm, Anodizer, not to ruin your math or understanding of altitudes but Denver and the Ft Collins area is at about 5800 ASL + the 3000 is 8800 above sea level and I believe vertical limit is 14800....if he would of been in that ridiculous contraption, he would have been in trouble. Check your altitude/temp decrease charts and O2 levels at whatever alt the balloon was at PLUS 5800 ft. Just FYI

I disagree with you. that balloon was maybe 20ft around so a little math.
20-foot balloon has a radius of 10 feet. 10* 10 * 10 * 3.14 * 4/3 = 4,186 cubic feet of volume. 4,186 cubic feet * 28.2 grams/cubic feet = 118,064 grams. 118,064 grams / 448 grams per pound = 263 pounds of lifting force.
6 year old boy = 50-60 pounds
