Title: Challenge to the 80th Head-hunters
Post by: SEraider on October 15, 2009, 02:46:15 PM
Hey Guys, great furballing with and against you last night.  :salute

I like to propose either a 7 v 7, 9 v 9, or football rules 11 v 11; P38's versus 109's at a later date specified.  I was thinking early November?

If you guys tell me how many will pledge from your squad, then I can put together a team of 109ers and have a best of 3 or best of 5.

What do you guys think?? Let me know (PM me) if it's doable.

The exact models can be determined later.

Doesn't matter which 109 variant shoots me down.  I would prefer to fly my 38G however :)
I'm sure we could find enough Headhunters for you to shoot at :aok

Maybe they're not in to chest thumping victories, or maybe Raider's group isnt his squad...

i'm not one of the better 80th......but this sounds incredibly fun. i'd be all for it.

i'd only put one or two conditions on it though..........film it if possible(as i will be), 'cause someting like this would be an awsome learning tool....in addition to the fun.......and then i think any night cept for tuesday(i go straight from wok to mcguire afb, and am there till midnight'ish eastern time.

worst that can happen, is i donate some allisons to you guys, whilst i act as bait......best is maybe i get a kill.  :devil :aok

Ok, let's do this; Have somebody from the 80th PM me and we will set it up.  Let me know how many of the 80th you can get in and we will set up a date.

Anybody who wants to and is proficient in a 109, let me know either in this thread or PM me with your info and I'll be in charge of team 109.

i'll hafta go see if i still have the film. it might be on my old puter.

it was FAR from luck. it was a perfectly executed avoidance maneuver, and you smoked me in the process. i think i was pissed for about a half a second, then i laughed my bellybutton off over me being that stupid.

If not, we will set a date in the near future.  But we can try tonight.  :rock

Just a suggestion but if we have enough 38 and 109 guys interested we see if we can set an SEA for an evening and have at it?  No doubt there are plenty of 109 drivers out there, and the SAPP guys tend to be around.  109 vs 38 furball could be fun too.  Could be we could attract a crowd?

grizz is friggin SCARY in that 109, as is agent..........got into a gut wrenching stall fight with sonic, and then later with krup......UN-FRIGGIN-BELIEVABLE!!

the 38s and 109s got together in the DA tonite for a bit.  Looks like it would be a good thing to do often.  Good fights and good fun.  109s got the better of the 38s it appeared.

There were some good 1 v 1 fights without interuption and some good 6 v 6 and 7 v 7 fights.  Reminded me why I play :)

Checked the film.  Will post some screenies of the fights tomorrow which were great fun :)

We gotta do it again sometime.   Turns out we were either 1 short or 2 short of 38s.  4 fights were 8 109s vs 7 38s and 2 fights were 8 109s vs 6 38s.  I might have lived longer with one more guy to absorb bullets for me :)

Not complaining though.  Best fun I've had in a while!

I'd be very willing to do this kind of event, providing it has a historical backdrop. In the past, SAPP had an event against JG11 and it was really a good time...

Would a CM be willing to step forward?

i was there for about an hour or so, before the actual furballs started. it was pretty amazing, to see a con off in the distance, and watch him not come in and pick one out of a fun 1-1 fight. it went that way all night.

I think I was just in the right place at the right time. Rud3boi pm in the MA and asked if I wanted to dual. After a few fights He invited a few others.
We had a bunch of 1 v 1's then I just ended up in the middle of a 109 vs 38 daul then brawl.
:salute to all who kilt and let be kilt.

For the next fight though the 38 drivers have to fight with only ONE engine on.

Cap took it easy on me and gave me a great fight, made my night. Made me feel like a could actually fly with the big boys.  :x

dude.....there was no taking it easy there. i've neverf seen anyone stallfight in a 109 like that before. you had me ridin the buzzer and trying to keep out of the buffet for most all of that fight.
i think i had 2 departure stalls during that fight,  but was able to catch them with rudder.

i can honestly tell you......the fight with you, and a little later before the furballs started, i had a similar one with krupinski........THEY were the absolute most fun i've had ingame in months!
the only way they could've been more fun, would've been if i could've taken your airplanes apart, rather than mine falling apart.......but we all won last night.

Are you back in the game?  If so, then we can have the Aom-Few rematch.  We know The Few doesn't duel without their best sticks in chance of tarnishing their undefeated record.

I've just got my new rig up and running, I've been able to put in a few hours here and there.

Here's my view of the 1st 2 rounds(there were 4 in total I think):

Round 1 Film (http://www.mediafire.com/?ltzlzojkwyz)

Round 2 Film (http://www.mediafire.com/?enywtgf2ng5)

Yes, I'm on the P38 team.  :headscratch:

i've only really flown 109's on rare occasions. i think i flew some version of it in an fso.

what i don't understand, is how any of you guys can hit anything in them. they're hard as hell to see out of.

Shooting out of a 109 is easy, but what is really confusing is I can't hit a darn thing when flying the LAs.

That is my problem in it i miss 90% of my cannon shots.  I had several times in the 38 v 109 brawl that I fired at more than a couple 38 and just missed them. I will be practicing for next time though. I think I could have a chance if I could get my snapshots to connect.  :D

Don't get me to lying.  Same thing with the spits for me.  I can't hit anything with the spits (I got decent when I was flying the 9 a lot).

i can hit when i shoot out of spits, zeeks, hurris, f6f's, 38's, and most bomber gunner positions.

i just can't see poop out of the 109's......

Nice shots!  Why do some of the 38s have drop tanks?

i'm one of the ones with drops.

i always launch with drops in the main arenas, and keep em till i absolutely need to get rid of them. i take a pretty light internal fuel load.

i think someone told me the fuel burn is different in da, but if i go to the hangar, and take em off, then when i fly next time in the mains, i'll more than likely forget to put em back on.

i can always get rid of em.  :D
