Post by: captain1ma on October 16, 2009, 08:05:40 AM
with some of our more vocal players not around anymore, IF JG54 wanted to fly as a squad, would the powers that be, be willing to let us fly again?

I don't think it was the vocality of the players that necessarily kept them from participating. It was the actual participation that seemed to be cavalier?  :headscratch:

That's what I seem to recall (some incident where they ignored orders and did a MA sweep for as many kills as they could get, or whatever?)

That problem solved, probably best to send a PM to the actual CMs of the FSO, and put up an explanation of why you want to participate, and I don't see why they won't be receptive. Generally I don't think they hold a grudge, and try to be inclusive as possible.

From what I recall the "issue" was blatantly disregarding the squads tasking and attacking an enemy formation instead, followed up with some totally inappropriate comments afterward. Basically to the effect of not only did we do it, but we'll do it again if we feel like it. My understanding is that the requirements for FSO are pretty simple...

1) Show up (meeting your "quota" #'s wise)
2) Perform your assigned task to the best of your ability

The problem wasn't just in the transgression but in the attitude, anyone who's flown FSO with any regularity knows that occasionally things just go fubar on you. If the squad as a whole has matured to the point that it can follow the structure then I don't see a problem giving any squad a second chance (but not a 3rd)...just my 2 cents.
