Title: eVGA 250
Post by: usvi on October 19, 2009, 07:47:59 PM
Will a eVGA GTS 250-512mb video card be compatible with a mobo that has a pcie x16-v1.0 slot.
I was looking for a 9800gt card but they are all sold out at the sites that ship here.
I am upgrading the power supply to a NZXT 600w to handle the card.
My system is as follows.
MSI-G31M3-L V2 motherboard
Pentium dual core E5300 @ 2.6ghz
4gb ddr2 800 memory
XP home 32 bit

Yes, they're backwards compatible.  You just don't get the bandwidth benefits of v2.0

I live in the Virgin Islands and we only have Office Max here.
Most online sites will not deliver here or charge $50+ for shipping.
The best site I have found is Directron.
They have fast shipping and reasonable shipping charges.
