I am just thinking/planning ahead here. After the WWI arena is released would you be interested in a WWI FSO tour, (usual 3 week stint)? Of course we might wait till they add a few more AC, but I wanted to hear from the FSO community.
From the HTC home page.
We are pleased to announce an upcoming expansion to the Aces High plane set that will introduce World War I (WWI) air combat to the skies of Aces High. The initial four plane set will consist of the Fokker Dr.I, Sopwith Camel, Bristol F.2B, and Fokker D.VII.
These new planes will be available in a separate WWI dogfight arena and will also be available for special events. They will be the first planes to use a new damage system with greatly expanded capability.
-
Yes please
-
I asked around and yes the Claim Jumpers would fill-her-up! Flifast
-
Count the LCA in
-
I believe the BlackSheep would be into that. :aok
-
The WW1 arena in the old Air Warrior game was fun and I bet this one will be too! I'd participate. Looking forward to flying slower and dying just as fast.
-
Good lord I can see it now .. we are going to have a squad signed up called "The Flying Snoopies" aren't we?
-
Yes, I think it only natural to expand the possible scenarios.
But, you are 100% correct, we need a better, more complete plane set, and not just the late-war (1917-1918) aircraft like the F.1/DR.1/D.VII plane-set they have chosen to tease us with.
As you are well aware, there are already too many gaps in the current WW2 plane-set, so we will probably have a long time to wait...

I'm sure the 325Th will be there. My squad seems to like the diversity like GV battles and such. Just hope the maps are smaller. Flying 4 or 5 sectors out in a biplane could get tiring. :uhoh
-
Oh Hel* yes.
:aok
-
yes, count in the 77th!!! :salute
-
367th be in
-
Many of you are :aok but only 3 or 4 have voted.
Please vote!
-
I definately would fly one.
-
You dang betcha! Can't wait...
I'd vote yes, but can't find the votie booth thingy. Somebody vote for me. :D
-
Can't speak for my squad but I would vote yes :D
-
You can count The Free Spirits in on it for sure.
-
You build it and the BlackSheep will be there :airplane:
-
At the top of the thread is a poll. Click on it to register your vote. ;)

Wondering how those 3 guys managed to vote...
-
I'm in! :aok :salute
-
Same here, no poll visible.
And for the record, I'd say it's worth the look (hmmm... going to have to figure out how to handle the squad's campaign ribbons for that :D ).
-
Sounds good to me
-
Count in the 82nd FG! :salute
-
:aok
-
:aok
-
I'd like to give it a try.....Not sure I'd want 3 weeks or not cause I'm such a WWII guy.
Glad that you're adding the WWI arena. Gives me more ways to die and be laughed at on 200..... :cry
-
:aok Yes
-
412th would be in.
Just curious are there going to be Zeppelins and Bombers? Haven't read anything on it yet. :rock

See the HTC home page Nef. In time I suppose they will.
Don't know why some can't see the Poll. Should be at the top. Seems like only about 1/3 of you are voting. Moot I guess as the feed back is all positive. :)
-
Ok, just speaking as a player.
Yes from me.
Only 4 types to start with but Rome wasn't built in a day, and all that. As the other types get added, WW1 would be a hoot. Did a few WW1 SEA setups in Warbirds, and they were a blast.
-
I'm sure The Unforgiven would love to kill WWI planes as much as WWII planes. YES!
-
Hitech stated
No ack
No GV's
No Field captures
No plans at this time to add bombers
Fields approximately 5 miles apart (slow planes)
-
You have my vote !!

Doesn't sound like a very promising FSO design. With nothing to attack, fighters sweeps would be the only objectives you could dole out.
-
Agreed I would find it hard to do an FSO that was just fighter sweeps. Would be better for a snap shot if just sweeps.
Once bombs are added then we can actually attack and defend targets and build an FSO around that.
-
yes :rock
-
II/JG27 would have a few people in.
-
I would beg , borrow , bluff my way in to this one .
Nutte :salute
-
I think people are jumping the gun on this one...
As of right now all we have is that there will be four fighters (no bombers or GV's) added by the end of the year. I really would not be interested in flying an FSO that's just two forces of fighters going against each other with no objectives.
-
I hear you Motherland. Don't think of it with just the 4 AC that would be initially released. I am not sure I would even want to run an FSO with just those 4 AC. More than likely we would wait till we had some more aircraft. This would be months down the road. Since this is a WWII flight sim I had to ask. :)
The question was "Would you want to try a WWI FSO tour?"
-
I'm IN!!!

Sounds like some true seat of the pants ability testing!
I LIKE," ...true seat of the pants ability testing"!
Beam me up Scotty!
<S>.
Kurt :airplane:
SE5 A's????
-
Not without reservation regarding such a limited plane-set and map layout, most of VF-17 seems interested in giving this a try.
-
II/JG-27 would participate. We enjoy the compitition and Fokkers would be a blast!
<S>
Jeffn
-
That would be awesome, the only problem i woukd forsee would be Bombers!
I dont think they will model it becaue the WWI arena would be Fighter to Fighter.
-
Rolling Thunder would be interested, should be fun :x
-
The LCA would like to do one. But as daddogg mentioned, with only four AC it would degenerate into a big furball quickly. Give it six months or so, let the bugs get worked out, let some more AC be added, try it on a few Snapshots first.....then it would be fun to do and WW1 FSO tour.

OK it's all fixed, no one can see the poll.
I talked with Skuzzy and we were not supposed to be able to post a poll, sorry about that.
Just continue to provide your input about a WW1 FSO for Daddog, so he can get a better idea if this has enough interest or not.
Thanks,
Baumer

Absolutely! Count me in.

Ok, all should be able to vote in the poll now and only CM's can create polls.
