that's excellent ot hear.

from the looks of it, he did that doing a very very low inverted pass. saw some in the video, where i was amazed that they didn't drag their vertical stabs on the ground.

The video of that accident is all over the interwebs.  It's even been posted on this very board 3 times IIRC.

Actually, Alex Krotov, the guy in that accident, just made second place in the World Aerobatic Championships in Silverstone this past summer. I was lucky enough to train with him last april.

The first pilot in the video is Jurgis Kayris, Lithuanian, in a Sukhoi 31, and the beautiful female pilot is Svetlana Kapanina, also in a Sukhoi 31, female World Champion for... ugh, I don't know, 5 times in a row now?
