We have no tracers, but now I want silencers. This way I sneak up on an enemy at point blank range. However, for balancing purposes, it should reduce damage by 10%.

If you're that close, I'd be worried about the spinny thing on the front of the plane, it makes a lot of noise too.

8 plastic soda bottles later, my jug's drag coefficient is nearly doubled. :uhoh

The only place silencers actually go pffft is in the movies. In real life the level of sound suppression isn't all that significant.

I know, I was joking, and I think instead of pfft, in RL it sounds like a big thud, at least on sniper rifles that is.

Just strap 3 snipers on each wing, preferably those Somalian pirate snipers.

If u sneak up behind an enemy and pull the trigger, he'll never hear the shot, so there's no point in having silencers. however if you really wanna have fun, we should be able to "throw" a sound in a different direction (like a jedi) that way they'll be looking in different places while ur behind them, then shoot them.

Why not just mount an A-10 Warthog on each wing, stuff large soda bottles over each of their noses, and off you go? :airplane:

It's over a 30db reduction on my AR using mine.
It's certainly not like the movie "pffft" with regular 5.56 rounds, but they sound like weak .22 rounds.
However, we loaded some subsonic rounds and I didn't even know they fired when I pulled the trigger because they were so quiet.
That being said, a 55 grain subsonic .223 round is pointless as it doesn't have enough energy to cycle the action.
It would be cool to see 9mm subsonic fired through an Uzi or MP5 and compare it to the movies. :)
edit: Just saw the topic mentioned .50 cal... I saw some video of a bolt action .50 with a suppressor and it was pretty quiet, but I don't remember where. If I find it, I'll post a link. I couldn't imagine a semi-auto .50 being quiet at all.
Actually -- one of the first links through Youtube: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MzHzQE_2OgY (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MzHzQE_2OgY) Not the one I saw, but this is quiet.

I want to be able to put silencers on certain players. :P Correct that real "silencers" are nothing like the movies.

Just use the Yak9T, even if they hear your shot, only one is needed.
