Ladies and Gentlemen:
Over the past month I have had a few major real life events going on. My daughter was due on 25 October but she has not shown up yet. I am definitely going to talk to her about being on time. I mean come on, ten months in the womb, you would think it is getting a little small in there. We have decided to name her Sophia Kathrin (German pronunciation on both names, for example Kathrin with a hard T and roll the R). My wife's parents are so excited but unable to fly across the Atlantic to get here (health problems) so I am going to try to call them as Sophia is being delivered.
My Dad was diagnosed with Lung Cancer in September. The cancer has been much more aggressive than originally thought. Initially the doctors told us nine to twelve months but now it does not look like he is going to last through November. If I were to make a guess, I would say he is waiting on my daughter to be born before he leaves this world for the next. As my Dad is my hero it is tough to watch him fall like this. It seems like yesterday when I was watching him taxi into Atsugi NAF in his big F-4S phantom (Gawd what a sexy airplane the phantom is).
When real life gives me the chance I will be back in the skies of Aces High so you all will have an easy kill again. Till that time I have to :salute you all and thanks for your support.

Very sorry to hear of the sad news regarding your dad...mine has Alzheimer's and it's rough. I too went thru that with my mom and it mentally wrecks you. I wish you strength and hope your daughter gets to be in your dad's arms soon. :salute

I understand your pain in dealing with your father's illness. I went through this same disease with my father-in-law about 4 years ago. I hope your daughter gets there for him, as mine came in time for Poppa Tom. Letting him hold my new baby girl brought a smile to face that had not smiled too much for a long time. My sincerest best wishes for your whole family.

Congrats on the birth of you daughter! You are about to experience the greatest joy you have ever known. And while sadly the world is about to lose a hero, a new one is about to be born at the same moment as your daughter. You will be her hero. We will be thinking about you and standing with you as you go through all of this. Keep us updated.
