What planes do you fly and why? Just wondering really what other people do in AH  
and what might have changed over the years. Pretty drastic for me at least :)

 Regular ride,  -1 Hog,  I like it, it just does not like me all the time.  I'm really not that good in it, but I have fun flying it.  I love to turn fight low and slow in it  :x

Fun ride,  P-51B, just boom and zoom for kicks.

Bomber,  B-17, flew it for first time the other night,  Its ok to me,  its nice to just fly along and chill OTW  to a target.  Seems to handle nicely.

Trainer,    Spit9,  when things don't go well, I up one for a bit of a confidence boost    :joystick:

Sentimental favorite,   190A5,   the plane I got my first FSO kill in,  again fun to fly, least for me.    :cheers:

Planes I'd like to learn,  turdy eight, and 109,   someday I'll figure them out  ( if I ever get time that is  :(   )

I remember killing a Spit16 in a turn fight with one of those after a bomb run, wasn't too much of a nob either :)

I always love my Spitfires. I've found the F4U1-D with 75% fuel is actually very VERY fun and great to fly. I also love the fly the P-51, P-40, P-39, P-38, Hurri mk I, Yak, and 109 and 190s.

TnB is great fun in light bombers.  The B-26 gets my vote there.
I like the P-40 for fun.  Nobody is afraid to fight a P-40, no matter how many green guys are already swarming it.  ;)
And try the SpitI.  That is the only one that is a challenge IMO.  Freakin carburetor will drive you nuts when you try to corner someone.

I don't really pick planes based on the categories that the OP picked. Most of the time I up planes based on what mood I'm in.

109g2: just and all around fun plane to fly
p40b: for the challenge of flying such a plane
i16: great views and nothing better than flying around in open cockpit

Since I joined III/JG26, I've become reacquainted with the 190-A8. 

I will still fly the L, 262, Ki-61 and 47M.  But I joined a Luftwaffe Squadron and will try to somewhat maintain a similar choice of ride most of the time.

Fighter: mainly F4U1a,
Perk planes: F4U1C, and tonight F4U4
JABO: F4U1D,F6, or P47D40. F6 just seems to be a great jabo plane. Climbs fast off the cv with 3/4 fuel. Easy to handle and take off from a cv as well. Only real weakness is my pilot skills. I just can't handle spit16s in it.

The Peter North:  Any P-47 or the B-25H. Shoots everything any everyone except the target but usually aims for the head.
The rediculous cupsize:  B-26 or A-20. Tell me i'm wrong

F4U-1A mostly, still trying to learn it.

For a change I'll take a 1C, or a 1D if I need ord.  I don't much like flying other planes for now though.  When I do I invariably find myself in a situation thinking "Geez, an F4U would be perfect for this." 

If a base is under a ridiculously heavy attack, sometimes I'll up a Brewster just cause it's so much fun to dodge and roll in it.
