Will be using my old 8800GT and DVD drive.
decent gaming rig? my buddy said i should get 64 bit and more ram but i don't think my generic wireless network card has drivers for 64 bit. this was kind of an impulse buy because i was just planning on upgrading my PSU and OS. my old rig is about 2 years old.

That PSU is not one that I would trust nor the heatsink and fan. The PSU states it is SLI and Crossfire ready but only has one 6 and one 6 +2 connectors. You could not power two video cards needing two power connectors each. Did you check the net for performance of the heatsink and fan, it did not fair well in testing.
Good luck with your build.

The key is to take each item that you would add to your computer.
Then go to google and research it. Learn all about it.
Then rechoose and rechoose and research some more.
Take the time, do the research, and you'll be happy with what you build.
Build in a hurry and you'll be sorry later.

shouldn't he have 3x1Gb instead of 2x2GB ?

Depends if it is dual channel MB. You need a matched set if it is.

No, memory should be used in matched pairs. DDR3 Triple Channel (Matched Triplets) is the only 3's that should be used in a build.
-
a little read about triple channel http://www.insidehw.com/Reviews/Memory/Intel-Core-i7-Dual-Channel-vs.-Triple-Channel-Memory-Mode.html

he's using 32-bit OS, P55 boards are dual-channel(2 mem kits), that aircooler wont cut it and may affect turboboost performance.
get a real aircooler, prolimatech or thermalright or coolermaster.
