Ok first off while I'm getting to know win 7, I'm still learning its in's and outs.
It has this nasty habit of changing drive letters around on me.
(any tips on how to make it not do this?)
As in its actually installed on 3rd partition, which shows as Drive E, But when you boot into it, it
juggles the drive letters so that now drive E is showing as drive C.
So when I went to delete a beta install of win 7 on drive D
I actually deleted my winxp pro install on drive C that was hiding "incognito" as drive D..
So when I went to reboot into Windows XP, much to my surprise, it had been deleted!
<Insert breaking noises and loud sounds of kicking the cat>
So of course eventually I reinstalled Win XP pro, which of course rewrote the boot record.
Making it impossible for me to boot back into windows 7, either of them.
AAAAAaaaaaaaaaararrrrrrrrrrrr rrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrggggggggg gggggggggggggghhhhhhhhhhhhhh.
<Insert more breaking noises and 5 minutes of cat hunting.>
So hear I sit, with the bare bones back up again. <Sigh>
Virtually no software, games or apps working except firefox.
Any help would be appreciated.
<insert big sigh here>

Never heard of that happening Ghosth, wish I could help, hopefully you backed everything up!

On the older systems XP -2000 if 2000 got installed after XP I would run the XP CD and rebuild the MBR. Hope it works for you. Just basing it off the older stuff but if it works...
Seems to me that at least in XP the is a spot to assign drive letters. Right click on My computer, manage then??

Fixed it!
EasyBCD version 1.7.2 downloaded and installed into Xp.
Ran it, repaired boot for win 7.
rebooted, got back into 7.
Went back into easybcd and also easily removed entry for win 7 beta.
Piece of cake. :)

DANG IT! I was just about to suggest that. I used it to fix my Linux nightmares with GRUB. Glad you fixed it, should I call the SPCA?
