I don't know why but other than getting your name in lights what kind of kill credit do we get when manning the bomber gun positions, I think it should go to something or does it and I'm not aware.

i think the general idea is, since you dont risk anything (you can't die) getting your name in lights is more than enough reward.. same goes for other gun positions in the game..

I do think we get a score for manning a soft gun

Ground guns are scored (soft guns)
Bomber Defensive Gunnery is never scored.
And that is BAD BAD BAD.

The whole idea behind bombers is destroying assets and not shooting down airplanes llogann. Modifying the scoring system to benefit the way YOU fly is gamey. :neener:

Take away the unrealistic bomber speeds, the turrets that almost never get knocked out, the 10-guns-on-one-plane slaved to one gunsight, the 3 planes with 10 guns each all slaved to one gunsight, the ability to jump from plane to plane, turret to turret, with no penalties, limitations, or drawbacks....
THEN maybe you might have a claim to request bomber gunners' names in lights.
As-is they're already coddled enough. And yes, I say this as a bomber pilot that's been shot down many times, as well.
EDIT: I remember I got my start in lancaster bombing missions way back. Before formations were ever an option. Today? Well, today folks would cry bloody murder if they didn't have 2 extra drones plus the extra guns and bombs to go with them.

there are stats kept.. but they do not figure into rank (score), as far as I know..
