My dad jizzed himself when he saw the back. lol I dont understand these machine freaks.
-
Anyone who pays that much for a watch needs kicked in the stones....
-
Oh yea.....
where's the pr0n?
:headscratch:
-
I could never justify $12k for a watch, but then again, people laugh when I spend the same amount in aircraft or hunting stuff. Too each his own.
-
My cell phone has a clock in it that tells time just fine. Even changes itself for daylight savings time.
Hell it even has a compass
That watch looks pretty though. Just not 12K worth of pretty

Well hunting or avionics actually costs that much. Thats a WATHCH for gods sake. You could buy a watch for 20$ if you want a decent one.
-
It's a vanity item. Cost is really not a question in this kind of cases. I know people who pay 12k for speaker cables.

:rofl
<< wants IWC, wears Tag Heuer :)

Really? Now thats just stupid :headscratch:.

1.) Buy watch
2.) NEVER wear it
What's the point?
-
I'm sorry Spikes, what did you say, I was busy staring at your avatar... :O
-
We all learn to look out the corner of our eye you we can both listen to spikes, and stare at his uber cool avarat .

It's a piece of jewelry. A functional piece of jewelry, but still jewelry. The price tag isn't that bad considering the workmanship and the fact it is probably made from a lot of precious metals.

Nonsense, you can't put a price on the dream of chasing musical/hi-fi nirvana. :D

Really, thats kind of strange to make watches into jewelry.
-
Not strange at all. Have you ever seen a woman's watch that wasn't made to look pretty on her hand? How about a gentleman's pocket watch?
-
well, you got a point.

I feel so let down for some reason
Anyway for watches, I have an $8 from walmart that works just fine

water proof?, date?, back light?, stop watch?, count down timer?
-
All of those fancy things take the meaning out of the word "watch".
I have a $10 dollar one that does all of those.
-
its pretty hard to make a tough, reliable, accurate watch for less than $1000, you're paying for quality engineering. if you need accuracy and reliability you have to pay for it. theres good reasons why explorers, divers, pilots and special forces use rolex, omega, breitling, tag, sinn etc and not $10 casios...
of course if you're an idiot and want to spend $10-20,000 on bling you can always try Jacob & Co

<----- Wears Seiko "Black" Monster $180; has a Tag (wife gave it to me for our first Christmas together and it doesn't get worn any more), Had a Wegner Titanium Mountaineer...kept great time but the band never stayed on due to crappy "Swiss" manufacturing, Can't wear a Timex due to cheap metal and my sweat, Had 9 Rolex GMT Masters in a year...they don't like my body chemistry and never kept time at all when I wore them...all brand new and never worked right for over a year.
<----- Wants a Kobold (http://www.koboldwatch.com/)

Nice looking timepiece..
I quit wearing watches. I just use my cellphone.
-
Before I pass on, I'll own a Tag Heuer. I've always wanted one, I don't know why, I just have.
-
I could just look up in the sky and tell the time of day. Not to the right min.

Yeah me too. Most of the time if someone asks what time it is, I look up and reply: Cloudy.

Here is a watch that doesn't look pretty anywhere.

Sinn arent that much cheaper than Tag, they do make some nice watches though and the Flieger is a classic :aok
Kubik - £400 for a winder :o you an pick up a Sinn 556 for £450...

ya .. the winder was a kind of joke :D
The Sinn have a kind of luftwaffe spirit but affordable ... not like my omega 42 :)

Bad news...it's a luxury item for vain people with more money than sense.
Case: 18k Rose Gold
Buckle: 18k rose gold deployant
Band: brown crocodile <---bonded to leather
Crystal: sapphire
Even if it had titanium or platinum workings...actual value is not more than $1000 maybe $2000. The chronograph function increases the cost/value but not to the tune of $12,000.

Ever since I got a cell phone I havent worn one.

the "workings" are called a movement and that movement is worth at least $1000 on its own. microengineering, especially with diamonds, is neither simple nor cheap.
might be a decent investment too, assuming its ltd edn - my first Tag was an original F1 (yellow/black ploycarbonate), the cheapest watch theyve ever sold. today its worth 2x what I paid for it.
btw just noticed IWC's pilots watch is in its 16th revision, which means you can buy a Spitfire MkXVI (https://www.iwc.com/collection/collection_detail.asp?l=en&mid=907) from them :D
-
water proof?, date?, back light?, stop watch?, count down timer?
Water proof - yep
date - yep
backlight - yep
stopwatch - yep
count down timer - dont need one
Actually dont seen the stopwatch part either. Waterproof does good especially when you get 32% nitrogen solution on it

Lol, thats how I tell time when hunting. Most reliable too...except at night, then your screwed.
