I can read a little, something about taking 34 holes but the pilot wasn't injured.
I'm guessing it was a flak hit and not from another aircraft.

Thats about what i got Delirium.
After the victorious air campain Above Dover
The Illustrated ME-109 received 34 hits. The pilot nor the machine significantly damaged

There was a victorious campaign over Dover ? :headscratch: :D

Yes, there was a victorious campaign that partly took place above Dover - it was the Battle of Britain, and the Luftwaffe lost.

Bare in mind my limited proficiency in German, but this is what I got from it:
After winning aerial combat over Dover
The pictured ME-109 received 34 hits.
However, the pilot was not injured
nor was the machine significantly damaged.

Could be 303 caliber hits?

Thought both can claim victory. Britan lost more planes. But you cannot trust the Germans, just look at snailman.

Nope... individual pilots can claim victories, but country-wise....Germany was defeated in the battlefield and surrendered to Great Britain. :aok

Looking at the damage on that fuselage, 2 of the exit holes appear to be 12mm (center of cross and bottom right). The elongated hole at the V next to the white section of the cross looks like a tumbled bullet or flak frag damage. The rest is fragmentation damage from an explosive burst that wasn't close enough to blow a large hole in the fuselage. Would be nice if there were other photos showing the rest of the damage.
