Sounds good, but I don't think HTC will allow any one player to operate the whole thing like they do with PT boats. Might just add it to the fleet. But aether I like it.

Only if I can name mine the "USS Brandon Flowers."

Just because.

The "USS Guy-Manuel de Homem-Christo" or the "USS Thomas Bangalter" is a pretty coolio name too.

The dear ol' Flower Class corvette was a great little ship - but put one up against an AH Task Group? No way, unless you're just after an easy target for gunnery practice.

Now if AH ever gets submarines, well that's a different matter, I'll call mine H.M.S. Compass Rose . . .

Here's a big :salute to all the brave men who did their business in great waters during WW2 -splice the mainbrace!

The fleets move at something like 50knots in the game so 16 knots would be much to slow.

I belie they move at 30mph, so 26 knots. or something like that.

Not even today's carriers move that fast! Impressive!

Why wouldn't HTC let us have something with a 4 incher? Its about the same as a 105mm.

I wish you could launch your own Ships in AH2, that would be so cool.

Why not, 1,000 perk points and own your own ship.
Perks repaid on sliding scale by how much of the ship is undamaged when you exit.

Good idea, horrible choice of platform.
First we need the German PT boat with its all metal hull.
Then we need the manned torpedos spawning from shore.
Then we need a small transport ship that can resupply a base from flat to fixed in one go.
Using those combined with Fleet ack you could build up perk points just for ships,
When you get 200 of them, you can launch a Fletcher Class DD from a port.
Or for 1000 points,  a Japanese heavy cruiser.

Schnellboot, aka as an E-boat? Na, Vosper MTB for this ol' cat, being British. Preferably, the late-war four-tube one. Make the freighter a Liberty Ship or maybe even model an Armed Merchant Cruiser (AMC, aka 'Admiralty-Made Coffin') such as the gallant Jervis Bay and have fun chasing the German Atlantis or stopping and sinking a Maru.

Love the perkies-for-ship idea. Save up 200 for a 'Town' Class four-stacker, Campbeltown (ex-U.S.S. Buchanan) preferred, 400 for a Tribal.

Yohoho and a bottle of rum . . .

OK where are the subs??? you don't need depth charges on a boat if theres no subs.and if you wanna get that tec in ship attacks. you should buy the silent hunter 2.  just my 2 cents :salute

You need the depth charges to kill the tanks that have fallen through the map.

" . . . the tanks that have fallen through the map."

Hoho, I recall a wonderful ride aboard a CV in AH that somehow became amphibious and spent nearly an hour ploughing a lonely and very large furrow across a peninsula. Perhaps HT was practising modelling the world's first and largest amphibious LST?

I'd take an Alaska class Heavy Cruiser (or Battlecruiser if you'd like to call it that) and call it the "USS Divinity"  :devil

You know, a ship thats a complete pain in the *** but doesn't exactly get to the point of where you get completely annoyed by its existence. Its a bit more durable then a Baltimore class Cruiser and would be great for carrier protection.

why not give us mini fleets of destroyers or convoys that we use to resupply bases? convoys that can maybe even resupp two or 3 bases in a vicinity of the base that it lands nearby? itd give the convoys a whole new meaning! but we'd only get 1 or 2 per map with DDEs and maybe a light cruiser...
