does anyone know where I can find AH gunsites. There was a pge full of them.
-
Do a search on the forum. Sketchworks has a nice pack.
Edit: since the spelling WILL matter in this case, try both the correct and incorrect spellings (gunsight and gunsite resp).

did a little searching and found this:

your welcome Bird Dog. BTW, were you by any chance a member of ~The Guardians~ a while back?

Does someone mind going through the process of downloading these gun sights and labeling them right? I cannot seem to do it. Please go into detail, I am thick headed.
-
Just download them, and pick the ones you want if thats what its about.

You make it sound easy. I am still trying to download the TIE fighter one, but I cannot figure out how to turn it into an 8 bit BMP. The lowest I can get is 16 :frown:

Just cut them and then past them into your sights folder.

I can't cut them, since they are not mine. If I copy them and paste them, they are a Jpeg and not a BMP, and show up completely white in game.

Right click them, and then save the image. Otherwise, PM me your email, and I will send it to you.
You did get the X-wing one right?

I have the X-wing one some were, but the one I am having trouble with is the TIE fighter sight

strange, I just copy and paste, and they appear fine in the game. I've got the red jabo one on my P-47 right now.

This is what I see when trying to re-save a gunsight. Notice there is no 8-bit option.

The exact same thing happens to me.
-
so it doesn't work in the game in its current form?
-
I just tried to save it and only get two choices: jpeg and bmp (no bit #, just "bmp"). Try it on the bmp options you have and see if one of them works.
-
Yeah, all the ones in my sights file are bmp. Bmp works in the game, IDK about jpeg.

All bmp options either give me a pure white gun sight, clear gun sight, or tells me that there will be some color loss if I proceed. Pics to follow...
This is the 24 bmp option, the only one that doesn't warn me about loss of color. The alpha slider was far left when I took the picture, but results on the right are the same.

This is the 16 bmp, and the results are the same with the rest of the bmps.

A couple of possibilities...
On the first pic with the clear gunsight; check the opacity of the sight from the clipboard. Make sure it is not set to low visibility.
As far as saving the image; are you clicking "save as" or "save picture as"? Eskimo has "save as" in his screenshot but I used "save picture as" and worked fine.
I can't really think of anything else, hope that does it.
-
I think they are supposed to be 256 color bitmaps

I hope you are happy. You have successfully made me look like an idiot :lol
That did it man. I ignored that one because the "some color loss may occur" scared me a little, but just OKed it and it works now!
TY all that helped!
-
No problem man. :aok
-
All you had to do was go to the folders you downloaded and had hit "cut" on the ones you want, s go to your AH2 sights folder and hit "paste" :lol.
-
Yep, just for future reference, 8bit=256 color. All .bmps in AH, be it sights, skins, etc. need to be in this format.
-
Heres a few of mine.
