Title: More than one person in the cockpit during practice.
Post by: wgmount on November 02, 2009, 12:12:11 AM
A nice wish would be allowing more than one person at a time to join you as an observer/gunner.

its hard enought to get one gunner, let alone two.  except when you dont need one, then every noob (and I say that in a loving way) is requesting to be a gunner.  but then again why would u need two people as an observer?

For squad practice. Say you want to demonstrate a maneuver to more than one squad mate.

Something I believe about the network code won't allow this Flushed.

It was doable with the old Warbirds and AW system, just won't work here.

If Ghosth is wrong, which I doubt he is  :) I would say +1 but only have it enabled in DA and TA. I think the trainers could possible get some use out of it and I know my sqaud would love it to show some of the weaker sticks some moves in fighters :salute

In Warbirds you could issue a '.hijack****' and become the pilot's 'double', sitting in exactly the same position as him as a sort of doppelganger. Great for training; that's how I discovered Dhyran's setup and skills greatly exceeded mine.

Note that you can film maneuvers and email them to people, at which point they can see everyone's cockpits and gauges from every angle and with or without maneuver trails.

This could be extended so that films and cockpit riding would be more accurate. What I mean by that is when riding in a cockpit, many of the gauges are not accurate esp the flaps. This makes it hard to show others how to do certain ACMs.

I think this would help loads, maybe we could have a specail CM feature that lets them enable that in an area for example the TA.

It would also be nice if the film recorded control surface movement... :noid

But you can only have 1 in the cockpit with you.......why not make it so you can have more then 1 in a cockpit? other then it would set up computer problems like ghosth said

It's not computer problems. It's a client problem. As in almost the entire cockpit and joining system of the game would need to be recoded...which I figure you might as well put out Aces High III if you're going to put that much work in.

I don't know about the code but it sounds like a good idea if only for the TA, other wise it would bring about the unwanted deathstars (unwanted by HT).

Cool, yes, but as cool as 6 guys with formations all in a tight group, no, IMO thats cooler.

With 'friendly collisions' set to off in the ol' Warbirds days, we used to formate on to a friendly heavy bomber and 'merge' with him. Gave the enemy a hell of a shock when the bomber he was stalking suddenly gave birth to three fully-fledged Mustangs . . .
