I was at 117 yesterday. We fought back the bish to point of CAP. In the process I shot down 2 uppers and never received a kill message or an assist. What happened there?
-
If they were still on the runway, or low enough, they may have been able to get a landing.
-
It's anoying that they could get down on the ground and ditch. Would a WWII pilot get credit for a kill if this happened? Don't know. :headscratch:

No way one would make it back, I blew his wing off and he was away from the runway. In fact I heard him explode.

Yesterday I thought I definitely tagged a p38 and he was smoking and exploded as he hit, no assist no kill. And another time I just upped at a field and got a kill without firing a shot and many other friendlies were closer to where he exploded. Gets weird when so many players in the same vicinity. :headscratch:

3 times ive landed this tour,,,in the center of the runway(on concrete),,,,with 2 or more kills,,,,recieved a "you have ditched" message hmmm,,,dunno

It's possible that someone else had already critically damaged him, so even though you knock a wing off you get neither a kill or an assist. Maybe a stabilizer was gone?
Also possible he was low and slow enough to crash land and get a ditch that way i suppose, though unlikely.

Yesterday, I shot up a p47, saw his entire wing come off as did several other people,(not just the tip) , watched the guy crash into the water... no kill no assist. I've never seen this happen in all the years I've been playing this game.

ditto here, yesterday shot up a runo9 blew him to smitherines also a Peener-dirtyape no kill no assist :headscratch: must be the type of plane. also a squaddy killed sunsfan and he died and when he died it showed on the system that he landed 5 kills which one of them was my skin, geez

I've had it happen as well, film is the only proof and it will help HTC figure it out. Turn on auto-film an record everything then send it in for them to look at.

I've been hit a few times, only to explode seconds afterward from the previous hit. Weird.

I'll jump in with my weird ones...twice now...once this morning and once a few days ago I have landed...gear down and get a xxxx killed you you have crashed

I upped from a vbase (113 on ozkansas map) under attack by three F4Us two of which died to another WIRB of ours. The third was attacking a SB so I drove over to the maproom and shot his oil when he flew over me. He continued to attack the SB and I hit him again in the tail. After two more passes he gets nervous that I am getting to close so he flies away but his engine seizes immediately and he ditches on the beach but stays in his plane. I drove down the hill (at great peril I might add as the WIRB rolled but landed on its tracks) and one of my squad mates offered to follow with supplies in case I rolled again and didnt land on my tracks. No problem I got to the beach and drove to the crashed plane and sat next to him about ten feet away. I used the hull gun to shoot his rudder and fin off and then shot the pilot in the head (blood was now visible on the canopy). Lyric drives over witht he jeep and fires four rounds into the tail which then falls off (I had already hit the tail with 20mm and saw the flashes while I was on the base). Lyric inched closer and collided with the plane which soon exploded. Lyric got the kill and I didnt even get an assist.
I still favor this over having dweebs dive on dead airplanes and stealing the kill.

I wouldn't have said anything but it happened so much in the last couple of camps. That day it was 2 in a row. I saw one explode and the other I heard explode.
-
A pony was on my squadies six so I droped in and hit him with a 30mm tater. I recieved no kill or assist but Tom got the kill. We found it funny at the time.
-
Stang and I both converged on this poor spitfire on autoclimb at the same time and unloaded on him. We each probably hit him enough times to kill 10 planes and he exploded in front of our guns as we converged through the debris. No kill or assist for either of us. Unless Stang is just a big fat liar.

Have you checked your scores after flight?
I know in the past occasionally a "kill" message wouldnt show up in the buffer for quite some time after the kill during flight and sometimes not even upon landing. but would eventually show up in the score.
I beleive it was explained to me some years ago that this was due to the victim in question quitting the game before they actually died to try and avoid the kill being recorded against them.
These instances used to be few and far between. And while I personally havent noticed it happening to me..well not quite true. One kill last week took about 5 min to show up in the buffer. But I havent had no kill message at all show up in quite some time.
I have however noticed a surge in players complaining of this in game as of late though. Certainly outside the norm.
And given the names and experience level of some of the players noticing this and mentioning it. (non noobs and people who would otherwise know better)
It might be something HTC might want to comment on or look into.
just a thought

I have the same issue, the OP should have posted in bug reports

I've only noticed this happening since the recent change regarding kills.

Multiple times in the past two weeks i have noticed this. I may not be the only one in recognizing this but...Many times im flying an F4U-1A model and engage an enemy. Another friendly may be in the area and we would both engage the enemy plane. He/She may get on the cons 6 and fire a few round and cause no major damage...i'll dive in and try a shot, take off the wing of the plane or just shred it to pieces and only get an assist or sometimes I wont even get an assist.
On another note...has anyone noticed a damage difference needed to destroy bombers recently?...even with .50 cal's it seems to take ALOT more then it used to and even the same story with 20mm planes. Just wondering.
