Does any one have a spare socket 478intel 2.6 processor they arent using ?
Mine fried on me sunday and i cant get anything working

I don't have one laying around, but if you REALLY need one, you can still get new ones from NewEgg (http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16819116027). If you can find one of the 3.06GHz Northwood cores somewhere, pounce on it. Amazing little CPU has been my workhorse for five or six years now and it's nowhere near as hard to cool as a Prescott.

I agree , Prescotts are powerhungry heat stealing nothings
Actualluy I just found a new one at hyper Microsystems for 20.00
It will be here in two days
Hate waiting but it will get me back online

All sorts of Socket 478 CPU's on eBay for mucho cheapo....
Like $30.00 or less cheapo...
