Okay, I have no idea what I did. After taking a break, I came back after the recent graphics overhaul update and didn't use the auto-update, I downloaded the new version entirely. It is named Aces High, not Aces High II on my machine, and in an effort to free up disk space, I used add/remove programs to get rid of Aces High II since it was the old version and unplayable online. I did the same for IL2 Sturmovik I had on my cpu and never used... anyway...
As soon as I did this and restarted my machine, no sounds on my cpu worked at all. Nothing. I have no clue what could have caused this. All I did was remove two programs none of which should have had anything to do with sound drivers/settings on my cpu.
Any ideas? Flying or doing anything without sound sucks! Heeeeeelllllppp!

Check your speaker configuration in the Windows Sound control panel.
Check to see what the playback device Windows is using as well.
