I think this brings up an interesting question:

We use an online simulator for bragging rights, and play CoD for 24hrs strait, are we nerds?

When I started to get bored with COD4 I'd load up a R700 with an ACOG and run around no-scoping. Had a few 1 shot 2 kill moments.

Snipers are fine depending on wich CoD your playing. CoD finest hour, big red one, and 3 seem fine for snipers. But I agree with you on more recent CoD's.

Sniping/camping is fun, especially when they try to hunt you and you still bag 'em by the truckload.

I go by SirCampsalot on the PC versions of CoD.

Can be fun for sure, until they spam nades at you when they know exactly where you are, that's why if I actually do camp I find a couple spots to run to...like on the Creek or Broadcast maps (two maps that are very popular on the servers my community hosts.

Oh, I never sit a spot for very long.  As soon as I take my shots, I'm up and moving to another spot, usually one that over looks my previous spot so I can tag those that came looking for me in my old spot.

Just can't get enough of it! I rate this game up there with the Ace Combat series! (Which, to me, was the absolute perfect series in every way)

I thought up a great kit for myself, and I love it!

Perk 1 - Marathon
Perk 2 - Lightweight
Perk 3 - Commando
Deathstreak Perk - Painkiller

Primary weapon - MP5
Secondary weapon - USP45 w/ tactical knife

Throwing Knife and Stun Grenades and I was set for the time of my life! Never have I owned with a knife quite like in MW2! Love the trowing knife, can't count how many times it's saved me when the other player was out of range of my knife. :rock

I perfer MG's when I spawn camp. Makes it lots harder for them to get at you.

Who doesn't, you're just like the rest of the crowd on my old server...their philosophy is 100 rds to spray aimlessly before I get shot on reload!
Title: Re: Modern warfare 2
Post by: Nemisis on November 12, 2009, 08:17:02 PM
I distinguish myself from the spray-and-pray crowd by actually aiming. I get a lot of headshots with MG's, and reload time isn't that different from sniper rifles when you add up total reload time. Think, most sniper rifles have a 5 round magazine, while MG's have a 75-100 round magazine depending on what game your playing, your reload time is more, but you reload less.

correct me if I am wrong, but is that not what snipers were designed for?

Even so I agree with you, i think the whole game is too easy in every aspect. But then it is an arcade shooter.

True, personally as I've said I like to load up an R700 and, playing on my Hardcore server means I could ditch the Stopping Power perk, but I use Sleight of Hand. The R700's bolt speed is slower than the M40, but the perk makes up for it, especially in run n gun situations.

The single player campaign is very much worth the wait.  It is honestly one of the best games released in a long time and really doesn't pull any punches in single player.  I do wish though they'd give your the option to disable the two warning prior to the Russian airport level, kind of pulls you out of the game and lessens the immersion.

That's the way, Ack-Ack, it's the classic infantry tactic to shoot-and-move in order to kill the enemy while offering only a moving target in return.

Hoho, prefer the ol'-fashioned Napoleonic Era table-top wargaming meself. And AH of course, when I can afford it.

Ya, but guns are soooo overrated! Going to run out of ammo sooner or later, takes a few shots to kill, loud? While a knife has unlimited ammo, 1 hit killer, silent death!  :D What's more fun that chasing down 4-5 guys and taking them out 1 at a time silently, like a ninja!  :x :D

OK here's one, anyone else pissed at themselves now for going to Prestige?

Ugh, this blows I am getting my bellybutton handed to me non stop (just got to level 6 prestige so at least I can start unlocking again).

I only play hardcore (you avoid the ultra melon akimbo run around clowns and it's way more fun in Hardcore without hud and other bs).

Part two to this, the scoring also makes me po'd. Why does the guy with 19kills and 20 deaths per match get the most points? They should subtract deaths from kills and that should be the score.

It takes me forever to advance since I usually get 8-9kills and 0-1 death per round.

personally i think its to make people realize that even with 1900 points you can still get the same amount of points by less deaths and winning the round

I am?   In the 3 weeks of time I wasted playing COD MW2, I saw in excess of 250 hacks.   BC2 also gives us "non-hacks" a fighting chance with Punkbuster.   It's awesome watching hacks get banned while yer playing.

Bad Company is superior to COD MW2 in EVERY Facet.

Woah, woah.. BC2 might be a better FPS all around than MW2 but MW2 is a great game regardless.

How is it "great"?   No N00ks!!!!!!    I could have bought some Zeppelin CD's or some Hendrix CD's for the money I wasted on it.

It is dynamic in gameplay, no two battles are ever the same, great sound and visuals. Hacks happen, but hacks do not make a game a bad one. AHII has had hacks before and it is still a great game to play.

Of course I can not make you think that it is a great game when you do not think so, I on the other hand would rather have MW2 than a Hendrix or Zeppelin CD.

The "gameplay" in BC2 is superior to MW 2".    The graphics are no contest, as are the sounds.   I play at max. settings btw, so I'm just curious "what Karaya is missing from MW 2"?

It's gamey. Dolphin dives, nukes, unrealistic shooting, completely hide yourself, riot shields, heartbeat sensors, the killstreaks.

Killstreaks...the choppers...most people would say "just pull out a stinger".  why would I have to? It's a first person shooter, not first person airsupport killer.

Also, last stand, the no-recoil guns, the 50cal sniper that can be shot like a sub machine gun, the dual 1887, many many many more. COD4 was genius, pure genius. It was a perfect balance IMO. Many good snipers, good rifles, good everything. The only gripe would be Marty, LS, and again, the 50cal semi auto "sub machine gun" style tactic.

unrealistic shooting,
How is MW2 any less realistic than any other mainstream FPS as far as that goes?

completely hide yourself,
With what?  :headscratch:

1.) It seems as though in BC2 it is definitely more useful to fire in singles or burst fire, because if you unload a clip into somebody, the recoil is actually somewhat effective.

2.) Maybe it wasn't rolled into MW2, but in COD5 there was this "camouflage" perk that hid you on the map. Now, I understood in COD4 the silencers, but even I seemed to do better just running out with a stock M4 or M16, rather than the unlockables or modded guns. (As in Red dot, silencer, etc).

Was camouflage not rolled into MW2? If not, my mistake, and a +1 to infinity ward for that.

Whether or not the gameplay, graphics, or sounds are superior to MW2 is not the point Masherbrum, good gameplay is good gameplay.

Imagine that, a game that is gamey  :rofl

MW2 is not a simulator.

I've never played WaW but there's nothing like you describe in MW2. Snipers get ghillie suits but they're just more difficult to see, they aren't actually hidden.

My bad. I've never played MW2 but have simply seen the gripes from it, I had just assumed that they rolled over there ungenius camouflage idea into MW2. I laughed at the gillie suit deal in COD4, they were bright green and made snipers stick out like sore thumbs! :)

To each his own, however. The squad-style play of BC2 is phenomenal IMO. None of the run around the map aimlessly and knife-a-thons. If you go past your squad "line" in this game, or you don't bring at least 3 people with you when 'heading in', you won't stay alive very long.
Some people might not like the tanks, choppers, and what not but they are a hoot in their own respect. The quads are fun to run around on as well. There is a niche for everyone. Snipers, assultists, guys who like to repair tanks, medics (even though they tend to just level up medic for the M60). Each map accommodates each style of game play good as well.

I never see hacks while im playing PS3. Also i've seen BFBC its basically a copy of COD, it has all the same game modes such as: Domination,Sabotoge, etc.
From what i've heard you can only make like two classes or theres not many guns. On COD theres plenty. Just putting my opion in. I will agree there are a lot more campers in MW2 but still and amzing game.
